locked B4 Highlighting ....

Laurie,

Could you "highlight" B4 QSOs in the WSTX "Band Activity" window even
when Filters -> "Do Not Show Worked (B4) callsigns" is selected?

Those calls are still in the "Band Activity" window even if they are
hidden in the alerts display. It seems logical that they should be
highlighted (colored) in Band Activity to reduce confusion. You
obviously identify them to hide them from the Alerts display and they
are colored if "Do Not Show Worked (B4) callsigns" is not selected
so it seems that a simple reordering of of the logic (move highlight
ahead of hide) would be all that would be required.

Joe,

I can see the merit is your proposal.
I have added it to the "Implement-in-the-near-future-todo-list".

Whether it makes the next release is unclear at this time. The old code-base is a bit of a nightmare, sometimes the simplest (in theory) of changes don't turn out that way. This is my favorite image describing the AutoIT based code of JTAlert.

Joe,

FYI, B4 highlighting in WSJT-X when the Callsign is hidden in JTAlert due to filtering will be available with the next JTAlert release. Also, Ignored Callsign highlighting gets the same treatment.

Thank you.

I had some ideas for improving sounds - allowing the user to trigger
sounds for only stations calling CQ (and/or LotW users) independent of
highlighting - but I suspect that is a bridge too far with the spaghetti
code. I'll wait for you get version 3 out the door before suggesting it
"for real".

I've noticed the same stations trigger alerts over and over again, every
30 seconds, which rather reduces the usefulness of the audio alert. It
is valuable to *see* the highlight on alerting stations in the stations
display for every transmission when one is "at the keyboard" (as it
allows the operation to quickly check the status of those stations) but
hearing the audio alert repeatedly gets to be quite distracting <G>.
Another alert that "would be nice" is an "ATNO" - whether it be a
new (unconfirmed) DXCC on a given (WSJTX) mode or the first DXCC on
*any* mode vs. "just" an unconfirmed DXCC on the current band
(band/mode). It makes prioritizing calls more efficient when there
are multiple "targets".

Both of the suggestions are "for the future" - not worth fighting the
spaghetti code to implement.

All noted.

As for the repeating audio alerts, simple fix, go to the "Sound -> Sound Play Limit" menu and adjust the repeat frequency.
eg.
