Hi Laurie, many thanks for the reply.

I am using AVG Free, latest version.

I have tried, maybe belatedly, to update callsign database and voices but screen just freezes with box showing:

Ham-Apps Updater 1.02
Checking for updates

And the Windows section of the computer is now frozen.

I tried to contact support to send latest system situation but of course I am frozen out from there also. I will re-boot, turn of AVG and try again.
