JTAlert 2.4.20 and Avast
I have been happily running JTAlert 2.4.20 for the past few days with no problems. Apparently with the latest Avast virus definition update, 2.4.20 now is said to contain a virus. Avast moves JTAlert.

JT65-HF vs WSJT-X
I believe that WSJT-X offers a superior interface compared to JT65-HF and as you mentioned it also allows JT9 contacts. I switched at least a year and a half ago and have never looked back. Also, WSJT

Ok, Laurie, I was able to get on the air for a bit this evening (US) and made about 5 contacts that uploaded to HRDLog.net via JTAlert almost immediately. Perhaps network issues or an issue at HRDLog

I run WSJT-X r3673 with JTAlert and often run it 24/7 under Windows 7/32 and it almost never crashes. I am not using its CAT capability, however. I also start applications manually. I have a Flex 6700

I believe that the increase to 128 characters was implemented in 2.4.11 or 2.4.10, but in any any case, that is the new limit if you are up-to-date. Ed, K0KC
