Bill -

What's the exact memory-related message in Event Viewer? Windows allocates memory for several specific uses and sometimes there are hints pointing at a specific memory allocation can help point to a problematic process.

Thanks for your time and thought, Laurie.

“You will likely find that each message is going to a different recipient address”

“I note a new user registered Sep 3 with a similar name, with an email address of Thomas@K*****ba.com. Is that you?

You hit the nail. That is, indeed, me.  But that is wrong.  Read on.

One general group message is to QSO@...That is my correct General Group account.

The dupe general group message is to Thomas@... that you said was added Sep 3rd and is the wrong address.

Here’s what I think happened. On Sep 3rd, *I* didn’t re-subscribe to the General Support group.

On that date you/someone emailed me saying I was added to the Beta group.

I think you/someone had accidentally re-added me as Thomas@... to the General Group, not the Beta.

That would then create the exact problem I am seeing.

Furthermore, the email I sent requesting Beta access, was indeed, sent from Thomas@...

That was my error. I thought after acceptance, I would manually subscribe and enter QSO@...

If I am correct about all the above, we need to do the following:

  1. Unsubscribe/Delete Thomas@... from General Group. I’m already there as QSO@...
  2. Correctly add me to Beta group as QSO@... so I can use my groups address for both.

Ps. This presupposes the erroneous Thomas@... address was only accidentally added to General Group.

And that it was not also added to the Beta group.

If it was, then the Beta Thomas@... account needs to be unsubscribed/deleted.

It will be replaced by the correct subscription of QSO@... noted earlier.

I hope that wasn’t too constipated.

Dan,

If decode population has stopped and restarting the Decodes window does not cause the display to update then likely you have a corrupt database file and it will need to be deleted.

There are two ways you can use to delete the database files. Choose the method you prefer.
  1. Using Windows File Explorer delete all files with names starting "decodes" located at
    %localappdata%\HamApps\JTAlert\<YOUR_CALLSIGN>\Decode\

  2. Temporarily set the Decodes startup options (found under the Decodes Window File->Settings menu) to "Delete All Records" then restart (close & open) the Decodes window. Once restarted, you can change the options back to your previous setting.

Under-the-hood, this option will cause the the database file to be deleted and a new empty file to be created.

In your case where the PC does not crash try looking in the EVENT
VIEWER for hints. In my case the 16Gig PC is running out of memory so
some piece of code is gobbling up all of memory.
I think it's happening in a fast code loop because I have had the Task

extraordinary memory. Hope this helps.

Recently have experienced this crash after PC has been running for about a week. Also run Flex Smart SDR for the 6700 and Log4OM.

Just looked in the Event Viewer and it appears as if the PC ran out of memory. Any suggestions to find the app gobbling up all the system memory? Have had the task manager displaying and can not see the offending app.

I also run y PC 24/7 running 16TB of backups across 10 drives.

Also running graphics, photoshop, video processing, et al.

Despite that Herculean load at 90% temp max on CPU, it runs fine for months on end.

However, only when I run WSJT, JTAlert, GridTracker, and AC Log during my 16/7 AR monitoring, do I have memory issues.

Each of those AR apps seem to run aground with what appears to be memory leaks after roughly 16-24 hours.

There are other sources of crashes too. Such as UDP messaging storms that trigger interrupt thrashing.

Systems with lighter loads would probably run longer before resources are totally consumed.

I just treat it as par for the course.

Interestingly, simply closing and re-opening said AR apps also cures the problem with a full reboot.

That seems to underscore a resource issue when pushing any of those apps beyond 16 hours.

Not a problem. Just a minor annoyance.

Their value far outweighs a few app restarts and a rarer PC reboot.

Hi Bill - I think so too.  Maybe it's a memory leak issue that degrades system performance over time.  You have a lot going on within your PC 24X7. Why don't you just re-boot a couple times a week - that likely would solve your issue.
