What is this unique callsign?
The
Band Activity data download should not be affected by the Callsign.

Your problem is that your running a very old, no longer supported, version of JTAlert.
There have been several HamSpots sever changes in the last couple of years that have included changes in the service that provides the Band-Activity data. These Server changes (TCP ports and access requirements) are not supported by your old no-longer supported JTAlert version.

There is no workaround. The only fix is to upgrade JTAlert.

IMHO, you should never run an unsecured PC, which XP is now due to no longer receiving security patches, with an active connection to the Internet.

There is no WV bug with JTAlert. The problem is with Log4OMV2. It is broken with respect to ADIF importing of US WV QSOs. There are several posts on the Log4OM support forum about this.

Since Log4OM has now broken your WV QSOs, JTAlert is not finding your previous WV confirmed QSOs which causes WV to be removed from the alert database after the rebuild operation.

Your will need to fix your Log and then run the Alert Database Rebuild again.

not sure if this helps, but from the website.

JTAlert 2.11.5 is the last version that can be installed under Windows XP & Vista.
This is due to future code changes that require a modern .NET Framework version that
does not support either of these two very old operating systems.
Windows 7 SP1 will be the minimum version supported starting with version 2.12.0.
This is a permanent change.

i think may answer your question partly, but also depends on what version of wsjt or jtdx you use as well

Glenn,

Filtering out NA will take out everything in NA (KL7 W, VE OX and everything in C America and the Caribbean)
Filtering by distance won't work. For you to cover the lower 48 from your location, you would wipe out the US, all major population centers in Canada, C. America, Carribean and part of Northern S. America.

If you are only interested in DX stations outside of the US on certain bands try this:

1. Set up and enable the wanted DXCC alert,  selecting everything or whatever DXCC you are interested in.  Don't select the US. This can be done on a per band basis.

2. Disable the wanted US State alert. Since you are not interested in US States

3. Then under Filters  check the box " Show only Callsigns generating alerts"

The only calls that will be displayed are the DXCC countries you want alerted on the specific bands.

A few people have seen this problem.

For testing purposes just rename "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\HamApps"

Then see if JTAlert starts.  If it does please zip up the old directory as Laurie has been looking for an example that causes this.

Glenn,

Have you tried filtering out non-alerting calls, as Laurie suggested? In the main JTAlert window, go to Alerts/Filters, and check "Show only callsigns generating alerts".

Edited

I rolled back to 2.16.14 and the error continued. But after checking out a few things I noticed that some how "USB Audio CODEC" had been made the default sound card for the computer. I got that corrected. So, I am now watching to see if that solved the error message problem along with a few other anomolies.

Thanks

NA - can I filter NA by Band or just ALL NA on all bands.  I do not what to include any 6M/2M NA stations.  I would very much like to exclude ALL USA stated by band.  I just am receiving way too many USA states when I just want to work DX stations.  It would make FT8/JTALert much more useful to me to only see DX stations appearing.

Tnx,

Glenn

But . . . the JTAlert colors are copied to WSJT-X. For example I have the worked B4 alert a red background with yellow text. That's the way I see it on JTAlert AND WSJT-X. If I turn JTAlert off, I don't see that. Is that the way it's supposed to work?

Also, a video tutorial I watched said double clicking a call in JTAlert would trigger Tx in WSJT-X. Doesn't work for me. Is there a preference that needs to be set to make that work?

Thanks --

JTAlert coloring (color the exchange or parts of the exchange only) is based on your requirements per the Log file you are using with JTAlert.
WSJT-X applied coloring (which color the entire line) are applicable to the Log file used by WSJT-X.
Unless you take care to ensure that the JTAlert and WSJT-X log files are kept in sync and that the JTAlert Alert database is kept up-to-date, it is very unlikely that the JTAlert and WSJT-X coloring will be in-sync.

If you have the different JTAlert Alerts set to require a form of QSL confirmation (like Lotw or eqsl) before an entity is considered no-longer needed (and no longer alerted) than JTAlert will never be in-sync with WSJT-X as WSJT-X does not consider QSL confirmations in its log to determine what gets colored.

JTAlert Colors are not the same as WSJT-X defined color combinations, they are independent. there is no mechanism to set JTAlert the same as WSJT-X.

I don't understand your comment about turning JTAlert off. If JTAlert is turned off, there will be NO coloring from JTAlert (to be expected). It is not clear what your describing, please rephrase.

If WSJT-X is not responding to Callsign clicks from JTAlert, it is likely you don't have the "UDP Accept Requests" setting set in WSJT-X.
