Mike - thanks for your note / help.  I was speculating that updating HRD with QSO's not currently noted from LOTW would be the means of rectifying this... just was hoping that there might be a scan option to upgrade the data rather than to replace / rebuild.  Using the awards selections in LOTW, the callsigns of the needed entries are noted and if selected, the detailed contact info disclosed.  So all is there... just a manual process to do it once, as you noted.  Thanks Mike.

LOTW is a horrible source for archive as it only carries confirmed LOTW entries.  It also doesn't know anything about card checks either (yet...that's supposed to be fixed on the next major release of LOTW in the fall).

You don't have a backup log anywhere?  Have you used any other web sources like eQSL or Clublog?

locked HRD Logbook now has to be refreshed before new entries appear. #HRD

I've been using HRD Logbook and JTAlert together for many years and without any issues.  I've recently found that new log entries no longer appear in the logbook unless I hit the refresh button.  I first noticed this three days ago when I saw three FT8 QSO's were missing from the log.  I manually entered the three log entries using data from the ALL.txt file and closed the log.  When I reopened my HRD  Logbook I saw I now had three dupes and discovered that JTAlert had added those entries to the log but I couldn't see them.  I deleted the dupes and have been using the refresh button to see all new log entries but wonder why this is happening. I'm using the latest versions of HRD v6 , WSJT-X and JTAlert on a Win10 desktop. I have made no changes to the settings in any of these programs.  I can obviously continue to hit the refresh button if I have to but wondered if this has happened to other HRD users & if anyone knows how to get the logbook to refresh automatically.

I am on Win10 and recently got their most recent, large upgrade.  I was thinking the same thing.  They must have tightened their blocking at that time.  Strange because I added exception for folders: HamApp and JTalert folders.  Since I could not download v2.16.8, I could not add exception for the file.

AVOID EDGE. Use Chrome or Firefox.

Have you sent Laurie your files using the Contact Support link under HELP?  This would give Laurie some additional information about your computing environment.

Iim,

if you're on Windows 10 (I'm assuming as I don't see the OS listed) Microsoft has 'updated' Edge, which probably means they've added some 'support' to 'help' keep your computer 'clean'.

I only use Firefox, as Chrome has also caused issues since it connects back to Google to pick up some data, and often that data cache has not been updated.

Glad to hear that worked.

Using  Microsoft Edge browser.  It has always worked with prior JTAlert downloads.

Download Results in VirusTotal indicate two engines are blocking JTAlert download:

1. eGambit  (Microsoft)

2. Trapmine (Acronis)

Defender is OFF. Acronis Ransomware is OFF. Total AV is OFF, I have scanned for both engines on this PC. v2.16.7 installed OK but not V2.16.8

The VirusTotal blocking engines cannot be located.  I am completely stumped.

Hi Jim,

For previous updates, I have always put the  .exe file in the same folder as the other, older versions. That did not work for me this time. I had to create a separate new folder exclusively for 2.16.8 and then it worked.

Thanks Neil. Still cannot access download. I have shutdown Defender. I have added Hamlib & JTAlert file & folders to Exclusions.  Still cannot keep blocked download.  I had no issue with prior JTAlert v2.16 versions.

Something else besides Defender is blocking the download.

OK .. are you trying to download and run?  Have you tried save to disk?  What are you using as a browser?

If its Google Chrome, try Firefox.

Laurie,

Just loaded 2.16.8 into both computers and now the sound seems to be working as it should
Thank you so much for such a great program. JTAlert and WSJT-X are a good combination and make amateur radio more enjoyable during this very low propagation period

Tnx Laurie,

i thought i had tried this many moons ago without success... as it was the most obvious solution to try.
it was a long time ago, but i had some diff in the adif tags had prevented just copying the relevant record diffs and the delta/new qsos werent read in properly after the restart and rescan.

i’ll try again.

Back then i had to manually edit the cut qso records and make the tags/record headers the same to get it to work.

BTW, very useful appl.   Tnx for the effort.

FYI Jim, Dave is not the only one. It happened to me 6-18-2020
after the 2.16.8 update. But, as Laurie commented it was a simple fix. I keep a short cut link on my desk top for easy access so I simply merged the two.
As to Why the info was deleted I have no idea. :-)
