The JTA grid alert is now working properly, finally, after reverting back to normal configurations (in JTAlert, DXKeeper, WSJT) after the VHF contest.

Once it is determined what had prevented the alert from working during the contest, that will be posted here.

Thanks Laurie

Heck no rush at all from me - it’s the 1st time in 2-3 years of using JTA that I looked at that option.

Just reporting it in case it was significant.

Tom,

The number of viewed records should not affect the Statistics display. I always run with 100. I suspect a timing issue.

Unfortunately, the code base for the Decodes window, originally ported over from the ongoing JTAlertV3 project has become obsolete and is no longer receiving any significant updates or feature additions, only defect fixes if they don't involve significant code changes. Eventually the new JTAlertV3 version of the Decodes window will be ported over to JTAlertV2, but there is no ETA on that.

Tom,

Your correct, it is not normal. On first display all counts will be zero but they get updated as the statistics gathering code, run on an independent thread, starts returning results. It is unclear why your not initially getting results.

Jesus,

It looks like JTAlert is being prevented from downloading the data from the HamSoots server or the connection is timing out. Please use the "Help" -> "Contact Support" menu, on the main JTAlert window, to send me your JTAlert files for analysis.

Harry,

After you updated Log4OM with your LoTW confirmations did you run the "Scan Log" in JTAlert? That needs to be done in order to get the Wanted Lists updated with the current confirmations from your Log.

Check the sound file path is still set for the "Own Call" Alert. Also check that you still have that Alert enabled.

Wilfredo,

Until you can install the .NET Framework you will not be able to install JTAlert.

The error message translates to "A certificate chain could not be created in a trusted root certification authority".

This indicates a problem with your Windows installation with out of date security certificates. They will need to be updated.

Perhaps this link will help..

If you are unable to update your certificates, I suggest you source some local help from an experienced IT user who is experience with Windows troubleshooting.

Greetings group
I need to know the requirements to install JTALERT on windows 7 64 bit in English. I am a Cuban radio amateur with callsign CO6WIL. I make FT4 and FT8 digital radio with wsjt-x and JTDX. I have always wanted to install JTALERT but I have never been able to do it successfully. When I try to install MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK OFFLINE it gives me an error and therefore I could not continue with the process. Any help is welcome

WSJT-2.2.0 and JTAlert 2.16.7.

If you mean the Waterfall, than use the wsjtx View -> Waterfall menu will restore it without restarting wsjtx.

If you're running a single instance setup, single JTAlert/WSJT-X combination, and need to restart wsjtx you can leave JTAlert running, it will detect the wsjtx change and adjust accordingly.

The latest JTAlert version 2.16.9 is now available @ https://hamapps.com/JTAlert/

de Laurie VK3AMA

Release Notes.

2.16.9 (18-Jul-2020)

*** Includes Callsign database file version 2020-07-18 (2020-Jul-18)

  Changes:

    - Scan Log: The "Scan Log and Rebuild" menu in the Settings has been renamed
       "Rebuild Alert Database".

    - ACLog Logging: "Local" and "Remote" configuration options have been renamed
       "Automatic" and "Manual" respectively.

    - Windows notification sounds: Used by some JTAlert popup messages, like logging
success/failure, have been replaced with a dedicated sound file/volume
selection. See the "Alerts -> Miscellaneous Alerts -> Windows Notifications"
       section of the Settings window.

    - Highlight WSJT-X DT: The option "Highlight Band Activity DT values that
exceed threshold", previously removed in version 2.15.9, is now available.
See the Settings window, Applications - WSJT-X section.

  Fixes:

    - JTAlertV2.Manager process: Not starting correctly, repeated starts and stops,
when the %localappdata% path contains accented characters, like "ö", "é", etc.
Caused by a defect in an AutoIT (used to create JTAlert) inbuilt library.

    - QSO History Window: Incorrectly showing a "First QSO" message in the 2m
position when no previous QSOs in log. (2.16.7 defect)

    - Marathon Alert: WAE entities incorrectly alerting despite being set as no
longer needed. This affected all 6 WAE entities.

    - Alert Types Window: Showing on all virtual desktops.

Still looking for the fix to this (please see below).

The list of unneeded grids on the grid alert setting page is still unpopulated.  So, the JTA grid audio alert continues to be beeping for every decoded data signal / segment.  The JTA Decodes window is showing in the grid column all grids being highlighted.  And so, it seems half the battle is won here.  The other half is getting the grid window populated.

My other JTA alerts are working fine.  The log being used is DXKeeper.  The JTA version is v.2.16.8.   The WSJT contest log is also being shown, accurately, on the computer screen.    Ideas welcome.

Still attempting to resolve the original issue - - getting JTA to properly alert for needed grids.  Getting much closer to what needs to be done.

In Settings, under Tracking Individual Band, Individual Mode, FT8 selected, and for 6 meters in this case, there are no grids populating the screen; where there should be dozens.

Somewhere there's another setting to make this work.  Ideas welcome.
