Just having my cup of coffee trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. I was born in DC and enjoy having the ability to track and seek contacts from the District. That is MY choice. If you want to track it as part of MD  VA or even PA that is YOUR choice. Those of you that might disagree with me. I would suggest you develop your own program. Thank you. I agree with Joe and Ron.

DC is not a state and is not considered as such by anyone.
If one wants to keep track of stations worked in DC, many logging programs can do this with a search or a script.  I know that DXKeeper can do it with a script.

The fact that ADIF may use the same field for DC as it does for states, does not confer statehood unto DC.

If eQSL uses it for some award, certainly is not for WAS unless it is for MD.  Working DC counts as MD for WAS.  I don't know what eQSL award (other than using it for MD for WAS) would accept DC as some entity.  Well, I suppose if they have one for country capitals it could be.

I don't care about your political views, especially those who emailed me directly with their hatred (too gutless to post their comments publicly)!
I don't care what color tie or hat your wear, red or blue, I am not trying to force you to change!
I am not trying to get DC elevated to Statehood!
JTAlert does not care about your politics or the official status of "DC"!

All JTAlert is doing is providing the ability for users to track "DC" as a separate alert-able entity if that is what they want.
If a user wants to track DC contacts, for what ever reason (I don't care), they can do that by changing a single setting.

If a JTAlert user has a problem with "DC" alerting they DON'T need to do anything. If they choose to turn off the "Consider DC as MD" option (which is enabled by default) they will get the "DC" alerts. That's their problem for making the change, not mine! If the mere presence of that option within JTAlert is a concern, the answer is simple, Stop using JTAlert!

JTAlert has been developed for all Hams worldwide regardless of the Country of operation or their political opinions.

I am setting up a new computer. My Icom 7600 is on. I use AC Log for my logging program. I have WSJT-x installed and working great.
I downloaded and ran the setup file for JTAlert. It starts and about 2 or 3 seconds later immediately stops. It no longer appears on the task bar

JTAlert uses your database.

Uploads change QSOs to "Requested"  -- confirmed downloads change them to "Received".

If you go to my QRZ page you'll find LOTWQSL which will also download LOTW confirmations...it's a quick check to see if you need to do Log4OM and JTAlert updates as those matter most when WAS or DXCC updates occur which my program makes easy to see.

I'll try to relocate the database to the hard drive and see if that makes a difference.

Back to JTALERT, does the program grab confirmation data from the Log4OM2 database, or directly from LoTW?

Don't use OneDrive....I've seen other users have problems with it.

Log4OM does upload automatically but does not download automatically.

If you didn't get anything with a LOTW last download date of 7/1/2020 something is horribly wrong.

As Michael suggested, I checked the path for the Log4OM2 database, and JTALERT's is the same as that shown at the bottom of the Log4OM window: User/user/onedrive/documents...

I attempted a confirmation download on Log4OM2, but it found nothing to download... since "Last Download", or since 7/1/2020. I've been logging new QSOs everyday, and it's reflected on LoTW soon after I close Log4OM2 at the end of the day.

I'm currently using Log4OM2 (set up in JTALERT settings), which is working well with the radio, as well as WSJT-X and JTALERT. When I close Log4OM2, new QSOs are successfully uploaded to LoTW automatically (I suppose that it downloads new confirmations from LoTW at the same time). Is JTALERT supposed to use these newly-downloaded confirmations on Log4OM2 to turn off the appropriate state alerts?

Lastly, I ran Rebuild Database to see if that was the missing piece - it had the opposite effect, the number of needed states increased. It looks like I'll have to manually uncheck the needed states, by band and mode... need some help, please!

Patrick,

Log4OM2 does not automatically download from LOTW. You have to do that in QSL Manager. If you have not done a manual download, then those QSOs will still show as not confirmed. Do a manual download, and then do a Rebuild Database. That should work for you.

I found that thanks to qrz several worked states got changed by incorrectly data on the site.   Once corrected it stopped asking to update old records. As stated make the log file names match.  And is would believe program and jtalert.   Gridtracker may be missing info in its log.

Pete,

The only time money is involved with LOTW is if you are using it to apply fro an award. It is not a requirement to be an ARRL member to use LOTW, with the exception of applying for awards, and only if you are a US ham (as you said).

locked Checking needed DXCC, etc #HRD #JTDX

ON4AVJ@...

Hello,

I’m using HRD deluxe as my main logbook application and JTDX as my main digital application.

I have now a new computer and I have two questions:

  1. In HRD I have 2 logbooks since I moved my home QTH (within the legal boundaries for DXCC, etc). But if I want to update my wanted list is does not combine my old QTH (Gent table) and the new one (Oostende) when using the rebuild option (it's Gent or Oostende, but not the combination). Can I combine those 2 tables?
  2. On my former PC I could double click on a call in JTalert and see the result in JTSDX/WSJT+ . Now it is not working on the new PC, is there a setting to activate this?
