Why would you want to do that?   Wouldn't trying to get the current one working (the one with the latest fixes) be of more use?

Is it possible to download an older version of JTAlert?
I didn't see how on the website.

JTAlert has been crashing, so I installed 2.16.15 to see if it would help.  No crashes, so far.

It didn't happen when I first installed .16, so it could be a Windows update that changed something.

Attached is a screenshot of the error.

I don't always update software immediately to the latest release, so this may be a problem of my own making, but FWIW here's what I experienced recently.

I was running JTAlert v2.16.10 with whatever version of the Callsign Database was current with that release. I realized that the older Callsign Database was the reason all users were showing a last LoTW update in July. I installed the Callsign Database v2020.11.18 and that took care of the LoTW problem. But it introduced a NEW problem. When right-clicking on an alert to send a message to the operator, I was no longer getting an ONLINE or OFFLINE indication in the message window. I updated JTAlert to v2.16.16 and now all is well again.

I was not aware that updating the Callsign Database by itself could be a problem, but it was in this case.

I soved the problem with manually update of wanted dxcc's list. In this list I keep only countries that I want for qrp so, when is enabled alerts me.Thanks to all 73

I unplugged the internet, turned off all firewall and virus protection software, exited all programs and reintstalled JTALert.
Still the same thing happens. It starts but across the top line says "Out of Shack, #False".
If I go into task manager, JtAlert does not show as a running program, but under process is "JTAlertV2.Manager.exe" (32bit).
I am running a 64bit computer windows 10 Intel i7 processor.

What protection software are you using,? Name names.

Not all protection software stop their background interference when disabled. Often disabling the software only turns off the real-time file scanning leaving the other interfering processes running. Norton, Malwarebytes, ZoneAlarm & McAfee are all know to behave like this.

Try the following...

Option 1.

• Make sure that JTAlertV2.Manager.exe is not running.
• Using Windows File Explorer navigate to %localappdata% and rename the "HamApps" directory to say "HamApps_Old" then zip it up and email it to me direct at    vk3ama.ham.apps [at] gmail.com
• Start JTAlert. Does it now stay running?
• If yes that indicates a possible problem with the JTAlert config files. You will need to reconfigure your JTAlert setting.
  
• If No, than you can rename the "HamApps_Old" directory back to "HamApps" and then try Option 2.
  

Option 2.

• Make sure that JTAlertV2.Manager.exe is not running.
• Don't start WSJT-X.
• Start JTAlert without WSJT-X running. It should present a waiting for WSJT-X to start message. Does JTAlert now automatically close?
• If Yes, than I am out of ideas. Try checking your Windows Event Viewer to see if there is anything recorded there.
• In No, that indicates a likely permissions mismatch issue with WSJT-X and your Protection software is interfering and force closing JTAlert.
• Check the properties of both the wsjtx.exe file and the shortcut used to start WSJT-X and turn of the "Run as Administrator" settings. Running WSJT-X elevated is not needed and should not normally be used. Doing so will cause interoperability issues with JTAlert.

Let me know what you find.

Periodically use your logger to update itself with your latest QSLs from LotW and then, in JTAlert, perform a Settings->Rebuild Alert Database.  This works with the DXKeeper logger; I don't know about other loggers.

This is the same procedure for all the supported Loggers. Get the Log updated with the Lotw or Eqsl or Card confirmations, then after the Log has been updated run the JTAlert Rebuild.

Back to JTALERT, does the program grab confirmation data from the Log4OM2 database, or directly from LoTW? 

JTAlert uses your Log file as the "definitive source" of your confirmations.

If a dxcc is not confirmed in your Log despite being confirmed on Lotw, JTAlert will not know of the LoTW confirmation. You need to get your Log updated with your LoTW confirmations. Refer to your loggers help documentation on how to update your confirmations.

JTAlert only looks at your Log for all confirmations, used by the Alert Database Rebuild process.

The auto-scrolling of the dxcc selection list cannot be disabled, sorry.

JTAlert does not support importing of a csv type list for wanted/unwanted dxcc or any of the other Wanted Alerts. (except for the Wanted Callsign Alert).

I am setting up a new computer. My Icom 7600 is on. I use AC Log for my logging program. I have WSJT-x installed and working great.
I downloaded and ran the setup file for JTAlert. It starts and about 2 or 3 seconds later immediately stops. It no longer appears on the task bar

Sounds like your Protection software is interfering. What Protection software are you using?
If JTAlert is closing without any error window being shown, than it is likely an interfering application forcibly closing JTAlert.

I am running 2.16.16 windows 10 with wsjtx.  any time a audio alert is triggered or i test the sound card or alert for any thing JT Alert crashes.  It work fine with the sound turned off under the sound heading on JT Alert.  any ideas on how to fix this?
