Dear reader(s),

I just upgraded JTAlert to version 2.15.8. The upgrade went smootly without any problems.
I am a regular user of the text message item (F5). When i first used this feature a popup window told me (in yellow) that the counter station was online, perfect.
When starting up JTAlert next day the text message did not work anymore. I checked this out with a station that was online (certain). All the options in the window setting box
are "on". What could be wrong here?  The same thing occured by a friend of mine. I am using Windows 10 with a I5 computer with sufficient memory.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Gerrit (PA3DJY)

Simple, enable the "Do not show worked before (B4) callsigns" Alerts Filter.

Is there any way to remove the B4 QSO's from the grid but still leave them highlighted in WSJT-X?

Just to let you know I loaded 2.15.9 (latest iteration, (I know it has nothing to do with this problem)) just to make sure I didn't overlook something and it it still occurs as described (Zones and Grid squares logged).  WSJT-X correctly displays previous session contacts as worked before, but not JTAlert.  Went back to 2.15.8 and all is as expected. That's where I am now.

Same happened to me as well. Using Win10, I looked in Windows Defender and it had quarantined a few files. You can choose to allow these files, after I did that all worked Ok.

You PC protection software has removed the jtalert.exe file resulting in the shortcut error.

Please look at CCUser.  You can filter every which way.  It's way upstream in the Cluster itself, with about any filter combination you can imagine.  73, Herb WB8ASI

Jim,

I think it has something to do with your anti-virus software not liking the new version of JTAlert. I had the same thing happen and ended up uninstalling the new .9 version and reinstalled the .8 version. Some have excluded the HamApps folder in their anti-virus software.

locked Are you using WSJT-X / JTAlert / ACLog / QRZ XML database.

Paul-N5DUP

If so, and you have ACLog auto populating Name, County, and Comments fields with data from QRZ XML data, I would really appreciate a comparison of settings in the 3 apps.

Paul,

I replied to your earlier message before I saw this one. Yes, in your case you would not want WSJT-X to populate any fields. In logging to ACLog from JTAlert, things like QTH, etc, are sent to "Other" fields, as you have probably already seen under the ACLog section of JTAlert. Maybe Laurie will have an answer that works for you.

Jim,

There were several fields in the JTAlerx Logging Options box that pertain to data displayed from XML lookups and I checked all of them but that didn’t seem to work, still nothing in the Comments field.  And just FYI, for ACLog to populate the Comments field with XML data,  WSJT-X CANNOT be putting dB signal reports (or anything else for that matter) into the Comments field.

First, thank you for your response! I use ACLog as my logging program. I also subscribe to QRZ’s XML call database. ACLog queries that database and populates several fields in its log like Name and County, which is being populated. But the Address is supposed to be in the Comments field and it is not. Thanks to you I have found several XML check boxes in the Logging Options Box that I think need to be checked. Waiting to make a contact to test it now. Thanks
