I have been able to use the work around to get HRD to log FT contacts but it looks like JT-Alert Scan log and Rebuild does not support FT4.  It works fine on FT8 but is not removing the check marks from wanted States for WAS.  Is that by choice or an error?

Laurie thank you so much for this great resource to work Digital modes, I love it!!!!

Hi Fred,

I used to use AVAST for many years, it got to a point where I got fed-up with
the constant upgrade for this much money, then when you did, they would try to
up sell you some more, Avast never was like that in the beginning, the software
was developed by a guy who lived on the old commerce canals in a narrow boat in
the UK. Another story where the money spoils the concept.

Anyway, I uninstalled Avast to try Windows Defender, haven't looked back.

Thanks John for the info.
Well it might come to that..

But I have been using Bitdefender for a long time.
It works and sometimes to good.

I did finally get a it to work but only last for a while.

So here's what I did.
I told it to restore all the files.
Then JTAlert was able to run.

I ran it for abt an hour.
Then it grabbed the files again.

I contacted Bitdefender support and sent them the files using their file
archive app.

So they will be able to put that into new versions on the software.
I hope that makes sense...and works..

Thanks

Log4OM has nothing to do with JTAlert starting.

It's just the JTDX has to be running before JTAlert will start.

So make sure JTDX is started first.

You just need to start JTDX and JTAlert will then continue.

Bammi,

In all honesty, I didn't test the JTAlert Log4OMV2 MySQL code against an SSL enabled MySQL server (I need to set one up).

The problem may be in the MySQL code library being used by JTAlert, the connection string used, or the libmysql.dll client file.

I did upgrade the libmysql.dll file (v6.1.10) as part of the Log4OM2 support in JTAlert but that caused problems for JTAlert uses with out-dated or broken VC runtime libraries so I downgraded to the much older file (v5.1.37) used by JTAlert for many years. It may be simply that the libmysql.dll file doesn't support SSL connections.

I have sent you a direct email with a link to a more recent libmysql.dll file. Try replacing the file installed by JTAlert with the new file and let me know if that works (I am not hopeful however).

Hello Laurie,

Many thanks for your quick reply.

As i stated in my mail, i did tried this out with a third party which was on line.

And i did send a message to myself, no result.

It did work only once after i installed the new version but then it it stopped working.

Is there a possibility to install the an older version (the version before the extended range of characters)?

And if yes were can i download that?

Many thanks for your help.

This simplest way to test the Messaging without the need to get a third party to test with is to simply send a message to your self. Doing this will test if the online check and the message sending & receiving are working.

Yes they will be retained if JTAlert is setup correctly.

If both WSJT-X and JTAlert don't have comment text, then the logging instruction sent to ACLog from JTAlert doesn't include the Comment field which normally won't clear any data you have manually entered in ACLog during the QSO except if you have the "Clear ACLog fields prior to logging" setting enabled in JTAlert.

<ACLogClearFileds.png>

If your manually entering data or performing xml lookups causing the ACLog data entry fields to contain data prior to JTAlert logging then you need to turn that option off. Alternatively use the data entry fields in JTAlert (you can have JTAlert perform the XML lookup).

There is no way to change to QRZ confirmations.

Do they even exist? In what file would you be expecting JTAlert to find these confirmations if they did exist? Does QRZ use a custom adif field for these confirmations, as the adif standard doesn't have a defined field?

Hi Laurie,
I have been testing with Paul tonight.
What we have found is that ACLog looks up the call and populates the address in comments.
When I accept the WSJT-X dialog to confirm I want the QSO logged. Then the comments field is blanked out.
For my setup it is the same time that the mode is corrected from DIGU to FT8.

I'm having an issue with WAS and DXCC confirmations.
My QRZ and LOTW worked and confirmed numbers match but HRD is way off.
When I do a Scan Log and Rebuild, the countries and states don't match LOTW or QRZ.

I read somewhere that HRD log is used for the Scan Log feature but I don't know which HRD log is being used.
I have a local HRD log on my PC and there is an on-line HRD log.
If the HRD log is being used then which log is used for confirmed QSO's?

Is it LOTW, the local HRD log, or the on-line HRD log file.

I'm really confused on this.

No JTAlert setup requires, it is automatic.

JTAlert will automatically include in the logging any comments data contained in the JTAlert Comments field or the WSJT-X Log QSO window comments field. If both JTAlert and WSJT-X have comments data, then the WSJT-X comments take precedence and the JTAlert comments are ignored.
