Hi Mike
I had no problems downloading the upgrade file. The problem was that Defender would not let me install it and I can not figure out how to tell Defender it is OK. Sorry if I was not clearer.

Hi Dave,

Not an old post so you are good :)

Yes WSJT-X is connected to the DAX audio on my Flex.

The Audio I am trying to connect JTAlert to is my sound card on my PC.

Wish JTalert just had option for no sound card.

This has nothing to do with downloading the file. This only works with files that are already on the computer.

With JTAlert 2.16.1 installed on my Windows 10 Pro computer, I have a HamApps folder in my "Program Files (x86)" folder.
In the HamApps folder, I have three sub-folders, Databases, JTAlert and Sounds.

It sounds like it was installed with admin privileges.

Open a file browser to that directory and try to delete it.  You should get prompted for elevated priveleges.

My decodes history window is not updating in real time.  When I open it it displays the records in the database, but will not add any current decodes until I close it and reopen it.  at one point it was throwing an error window showing a problem with sqlite.interoperablity.dll or something similar.  The error no longer shows up.  Sorry I didn't capture it.  jta 2.16.1 win7 64 home premium.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooted.

Neil,

Here is what I did today just to see how it would work.  It worked fine.

I run Norton as my primary anti virus protection, and have Windows Defender running as well.  I normally use Google Chrome.  Today I opened Chrome, and went to Dogpile.com.  From Dogpile I went to HamApps and downloaded JTAlert.  It downloaded OK.  Norton reported it to be virus free.  But Defender said it might damage my computer and offer the option of Discarding it or Keeping the file.  Of course, I kept it.   No pain, no strain. Just a couple of extra mouse clicks.

Hope this is helpful to you and others

Laurie put that in because some requested it.  It is not a state and does not  count for awards.  Normally in state contests it is referred to a MDC for Maryland and District of Columbia.  But some people like to track DC contacts.  So for WAS DC would count for Maryland.

With version 2.16.0

From the Release Notes:

  Changes:

    - Wanted State Alert: US State Alerts now consider "DC" for alerting and Scanning.
If you don't want to chase "DC" as a separate alert-able State you don't need to
take any action. If you do want to chase "DC" then un-tick the "Consider DC as MD"
checkbox on the Wanted States Scan Log section, then run a Scan. A voiced alert
wave file for "District of Columbia" is included in the 2.5.2 Sound files package.

This was discussed several times in the Group. A simple one-click fix was also discussed, but that is no longer needed as JTAlert was updated with the defect corrected.

From the 2.6.0 release notes...
  Fix:

    - Fatal Error: Line 11057 or 11247 error when the Wanted State Alert is set to use
individual State Name announcments and the Alert is triggered. (2.15.11 defect)

Thanks for the many fine answers.  Currently using latest build of Windoze 10, and also a product called WebRoot.  Never had problems with WebRoot "allow anyway", but Defender has wanted to clamp down on JT-Alert.  Will follow your suggestions and see what happens.
