Ham spots is one of the nice features to see where I am being heard around the world. Very cool.

What's the story with the spotted pig?  Does this mean anything anymore?  I guess there was something about too many spots being submitted or such?  Does it still mean anything?

The Spotted Pig is as relevant today as when it was first introduced.

"Spotted Pig" -> "Pig Spots"  -> "Ham Spots"

It is nothing more than a bit of fun (note the Pig is smiling).

If memory serves, it was the logo on the bottom of Laurie's Ham Spot page.  "Ham Spots"
But I'm having a hard time remembering what I did  5 minutes ago.😁

Apparently at sometime not too long ago it was bad to be a spotted pig...like too many spots or such...

Re: V2.6.14 Crash

Michael,

The computer was rebooted the day before, to install multiple Windows patches.
And, the unit has 64GB.
I could get in the habit of restarting JTAlert at least once per day if it would help.

Re: jtalert error #JTDX

Michael Black

It's a known problem with no fix.

I think there may be a memory pressure problem.  What does your memory usage look like and how long was your computer up when this happened?

Would it be possible to replace - B4  to  - B4C for Confirmed and - B4W  for Worked ?

Re: V2.6.14 Crash

Well known problem with JTAlert....there's no fix....just have to restart.

I've had them a few times and it seems as though memory pressure may be related....since I expanded memory haven't see this.

And how long has your computer been up?  Memory fragmentation could be the culprit too.

Laurie,

That's interesting.  A .NET bug perhaps?

So, I had not seen this problem before and today it happened again:

David,

A known, long-standing, problem.
The "undeclared variable error" is itself an error as there are non undeclared variables in the code. The compiler will refuse to compile if that was the case.
Unfortunately, there is no fix except to restart JTAlert.

JTAlert only reads the WSJT-X settings during startup.
If the WSJT-X UDP server settings are changed while JTAlert is running, JTAlert will need a restart in order to get the new values.

I've got the hover working now but whenever I change it back to a standalone window, it just won't show up.
My preference is a standalone window that is always visible, I like to always have the SFI, K and A numbers in vision.... HELP !

The window is likely placed off-screen, a common Windows problem.
