I beg to differ about LoTW. I moved to EPA in 2009, and since September 2009 to today, I have confirmed on LoTW my JT65 WAS, Triple Play WAS, 40M WAS, 20M WAS, CW WAS, Phone WAS, Digital WAS, RTTY WAS, and only need 1 more for 80M WAS, 11 for 15M WAS and 8 more for 10M WAS. So, in less than 2 years I find it difficult to believe you haven't been able to achieve a single WAS on LoTW. It does take time and effort, and I only do ham radio from September to March and I'm done until fall. As N4ABN said, the K3UK LoTW sked page is a valuable source of finding LoTW QSO's.

Hi Don,

I get on a web site to check for stations who specifically want LotW and look them up and hunt them down. lol. I know I have WAS on 30m.  Close now on several more.

http://www.obriensweb.com/sked/index.php   Is a good one and so is HamSpots.

Hi Laurie,

The logging program shows I have WAS but for all bands combined. I'm using DXLab Suite. I don't see a way to check my log for WAS for each mode using DXLab Suite.  So I go and look at it on ARRL LotW. It shows I need 3 more for 20m. It shows I have WAS for 30m 3 diff ways. ( Mixed, JT65A, & Digital )

The way your attached pic of scan log is a little diff then mine. I have LotW and QSO Mode ANY checked.

Ignoring JT-Alert & LoTW, what does your logging program (name?) report for your 20M WAS??

Note: JT-Alert Log Scan for WAS will also consider eQSL and Cards received depending on the settings used. If you only want LoTW Confirmed or Verified QSOs to be considered when scanning your log for needed States, ensure only the LoTW checkbox is checked.

I'm trying to see if there is a way to have it do the CBA lookup when the info is entered from JT65-HF. I have the "Automatically use callbook data" option selected in the call book config section.
The auto lookup works fine if I manually type in the call or use the capture window so I'm wondering why it does not work when I have JT65-HF enter the call into the log???

Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.

FB Eddy,

I just remembered, from previous testing (you don't need to test), that JT-Alert wont report the current operating Band in the title bar if it was unable to read the frequency box of JT65-HF and that is caused by the same elevated privileges situation. A good indication that something is not working correctly.

Time to add this to the troubleshooting section of the help file (which I am still writing, sloooowly).

Cheers for now,

It is unclear why this is happening. There are no errors in your session files and the config file looks ok.

Once we get JT-Alert detecting the new JT65-HF decodes, the display of callsigns and playing of alert sounds will work.

Have you set JT65-HF to run as administrator? If so, with Win7 security, JT-Alert cannot read the JT65-HF window unless it is running with the same elevated privileges. It is not necessary to run JT65-HF as admin, but if you do, JT-Alert will need to be elevated. This is the only time I have seen this situation during development testing.

Once I can reproduce your fault, a solution will quickly follow. I may have to send you a special JT-Alert executable to help trace and report what is happening around the JT65-HF new-decodes detection code to help isolate the fault.

Hi Laurie,

The version is 1.5.9 Fresh install. The audio alerts are not working.  I have the correct sound card enabled and when I test to see if the audio works the correct sound plays. But when I am using JT65-HF and JT-Alert I don't get any sound letting me know a wanted station has been decoded. I'm using Windows 7.

Eddy,

What version? Was it a fresh install or an upgrade? What is not working, just the audio alerts or are there no decoded callsigns showing? More info is needed in order to provide any meaningful advice as to what the problem may be.

Use the "Contact Support" menu (under Settings) to send your config and sessions files to me for review.

The alerts are not working. They haven't ever since I installed the program. Why? That's the only thing I notice not working. I like that it keeps track of what dxcc I need and states.

Ok the sound files were installed and the alerts were enabled. I have States enabled and DXCC enabled. Also out of shack doesn't work and it is enabled whenever I decide to go to another room or something.

Thanks for getting back to me Laurie. It seems everything else is working that is enabled. Seems only the alerts are not.

Well, assuming you installed the sound files (separate install from the basic program), go the the Settings menu in JT-Alert. Under the "Alerts" section, you select each alert you want to have active, and check the "Enable" box at the top left, then hit Apply.  So, if you wanted to activate Own Call alerts, you would go to that section in the config and would make sure there is a checkmark in the "Enable Own Call Alerts" box in the upper left corner of the screen.  You have to do this for each alert you want active.

Once alerts have been configured (colour and sound), they can be quickly enabled/disabled without bringing up the Configuration window by using the "Alerts menu" and checking/unchecking the individual alert menu entries.
