Yesterday, as I was troubleshooting another issue, the communications between WSJT-X (2.3.0) and JTALERT (2.16.17) stopped for reasons unknown.

In troubleshooting I re-installed WSJT-X 2.2.2 since everything worked under that version, however, since the reload, I still do not have a connection between WSJT-X and JTALERT.

Anyone have an idea what to look for, what to try?

Thanks Bill,

That got it running.  I do not know how the loop back got set to blank.  I do know that I did not change it but did check all of the UDB values to make sure they were the same.  I did notice it was blank when I was checking values.

Anyway, I’m back up and operating again.

Thanks

Hi Monty,

you should not be able to set the WSJT-X multicast outgoing interfaces to blank. As JTAlert and WSJT-X must run on the machine you should set the loopback interface as the outgoing interface and also check the use loopback interface option on the JTAlert Settings menu. that should get thing running.

Hi Jim,

That wasn't checked, but is now. I will see what happens now, and report back.

I had not checked that simply because I wasn't clear on the implications of doing so.

Reading it again, I can see that this may be the very thing I need.

Hi Patrick,

What alerted me was that it was the same station on two different bands that triggered the same alert.

That was what made me query it in the first place.

A possible answer - CQ Marathon counts both DX and CQ Zones (each combination counts once), so if a station in the same country but different CQ Zone appears, the alert is triggered.

Hello
I am a long time Alert user but suddenly this week having issues that I cannot seem to debug. I am using Alert 2.16.7 with either WSJTX 2.3.0 or JTDX 2.2.0 rc152 (older version but works for me). I am not seeing any callsigns being displayed
in JTAlert, if I double click a callsign it is placed into Alert but no QRZ lookup (XML subscriber) at this point I cannot place another call into Alert the first call remains and alert is not logging into HRD (.323) latest release. To my knowledge nothing
has been changed anywhere this all started this week. I looked at help files about the UDP changing did not help. These same symptoms are happening with JTDX and WSJTX. I went into Windows firewall and Alert was already given a pass and I
added JTDX and WSJTX but no change. Everything was working great prior to this week.
Thanks 73

As mentioned in the original thread .. did you go back into WSJT-X, select the LOOPBACK selection in the UDP IP address, click on OK to save the settings, then exit WSJT-X, and JT-Alert, then restart both?    If you did, use the CONTACT SUPPORT link under the HELP menu so that Laurie will get the files he needs to assist you.

Repeating you issue in every thread about HRD doesn't help without Laurie knowing the exact environment.
