Bill,
Sorry I didnt see this response. Sometimes I get so tied up operating that I forget to check the groups for info.

Anyhow I know memory is being used up because if I check the Task Master has an extremely small amount of physical memory free (as mine does now) see picture below   I know from past experience and training that everything slows to a crawl and sometimes stops when free memory gets down to such low values. In any event why have all those applications running in the background when you only want one small portion of the program.
Like most humans my age I am starting to get visually impaired (and slow to pick up on errors, so smack me in the back of the head occasionally) and while I like the data in tabular form on occasion, for every day use I much prefer a graff or picture to operate from so I can keep what little bit of attention span I have left on the main topic OPERATING!  Thats why I ask for a map with grid squares that are filled in when I work that grid

Thanks for all your help Bill

Hello,

Have been testing on 2nd pc and the problem is Onedrive and JTAlert and path to logbook.
If the log is saved in OneDrive, the operation with JTAlert and AClog cannot work.
I have found the solution, you have to enter the path manually and do not save your logbook in OneDrive pad.

First delete the path where AClog stores the log.
Then you create a new log and enter the path yourself, as shown in the photo.
I tdid a clean install of JTAlert and then entered the path.
After that everything works as before with JTDX or WSJT-X upload to AClog via JTAlert.

Info latest version ACLog V 6.8
Info latest version JTAlert 2.16.17

I meant multiple configs. JTAlert has no concept of Rigs or Rig control, that is the job of WSJT-X. JTAlert is simply monitoring the UDP traffic from WSJT-X, it doesn't need to know what rig was involved in the generation of that data.

Regarding your batch file, if you only intend to have one rig (and its associated WSJT-X instance) active at any time, you could extend the batch file to prompt you for which Rig you want to run and branch to executing the relevant programs, then at the end start JTAlert.

That said I created the following shortcut which seems to work OK:
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
@ECHO OFF
Start "" "C:\GSDR\Genesis.exe"
TIMEOUT /t 20
Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\HamApps\JTAlert\JTAlert.exe" /wsjtx
TIMEOUT /t 40
Start "" "C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\wsjtx.exe" --rig-name=FTDX101D
TIMEOUT /t 40
Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\HamApps\JTAlert\JTAlert.exe" /wsjtx

ECHO Congratulation! Your first batch file executed successfully.
PAUSE
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I had to play around with the timing delays to make sure that each program loads correctly but I can get both up on my screens.

I will try FT8 and see how I go on both radios.

Thanks for your help

Let me explain the problem.  I want to be able to select two different radios: a FTDX101D and a Genesis G59 SDR.  The G59 requires that JTAlert loads the software application via the Settings>Applications>Auto-Start function which I have been able to implement and get working.  Both of the radios need to log to the same logging program which is Log4OM. I have seen other posts that seem to achieve this using a different callsign but I need the same callsign (at least at the moment).

I have created a WSXJT-X for the FTDX101D and also the G59 and can get them working using the shortcuts .  I have also created shortcuts for both using the following targets with appropriate changes in the General Tab to identify each one:

C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\wsjtx.exe --rig-name=G59
C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\wsjtx.exe --rig-name=FTDX101D

I have also created similar changes for the shortcuts to Log4OM:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM NextGen\L4ONG.exe" --rig-name=FTDX101D
"C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM NextGen\L4ONG.exe" --rig-name=G59

My intent in doing this was to allow either to automatically select the correct radio using Omnirig.  The FTDX101D is Omnirig 1 and the G59 is Omnirig 2.

I have also tried to set up two shortcut to JTAlert using the following

"C:\Program Files (x86)\HamApps\JTAlert\JTAlert.exe" /wsjtx --rig-name=FTDX101D
"C:\Program Files (x86)\HamApps\JTAlert\JTAlert.exe" /wsjtx --rig-name=G59

Unfortunately this does not appear to create separate .ini files to keep the two radios separate.

Is there a radio setting that can be used?

Or have I gone about this completely the wrong way.

What is the preferred method to do this?

Any advise would be appreciated

Greg,

Unfortunately, JTAlert does not support multiple configs per Callsign. The Config used is explicitly linked to the Callsign and the auto-start entries are stored in the Callsign specific config.

All is not lost. Rather than having JTAlert start the G59, create a batch file that first starts the G59 and then start JTAlert and execute that batch file from a shortcut. When you don't want the G59, simply execute a normal JTAlert shortcut. The only downside is that the G59 will not automatically close when the copy of JTAlert started by the batch file is closed.

WSJT-X not responding to the Callsign clicks in JTAlert is a very common problem, more so in recent months. It is caused by not having WSJT-X setup correctly. Specifically, you don't have the "Accept UDP requests" checkbox ticked. See the Reporting tab of the WSJT-X Settings window.

As for you inability to login to the HamApps group, you will need to use the "Email me a link to log in" button that is shown when you get a login failure. There is nothing I can do about your Groups.io login credentials, that is outside the scope of what an individual Group owner/manager is permitted.

I did gain something out of this wild goose-chase though, a member of this forum contacted me offline and offered a needed 40m Rhode Island QSO, which we successfully arranged this evening... thanks! NOW, I'd be really happy if a New Jerseyan contacted me offline as well...

Hey Ron!

I always let JTALERT handle everything and have never had an issue except when I forget to start it

Just have it send to HRD and turn off sending from wsjtx

Hope to catch you in the VHF contest. I’ll be qrp/p as always

Sounds like Mike is trying to mend previously broken fences based on some additional insight he shared with me. Given there is light at the end of the tunnel with this logging issue, I have a workaround in place and will test the new HRD version for the fix upon release.
