Hello all. Can someone tell me how to show callsigns in JTALERT? Here is a screenshot of the app running. If I select F3, nothing happens.

Hey
I had a simular problem a few months ago. I was using an external sound card who was coupled on my computer via a USB hub (with external power supply). When i put the sound card directly to the PC the problem was solved.

JTAlert doesn't off any "on the top" display of signal reports.

Signal reports can be shown in the Callsigns window of individual callsigns to the left of the Country name. You need to have both "Country" & "dB" check-boxes ticked.

Open the Callsigns window Options popup window via a left-click the gear icon or pressing the F2 key when the window is active and has focus.

This is a problem for WSJTX (or JTDX if you are using it). Take this to
the appropriate list for those programs. JTAlert has *no part* in audio
levels.

locked Callers panel in Callsigns window not showing any active contact data

Al Holt

Hello all,

Running JTAlert 2.50.7 with WSJT-X 2.5.1. I can't seem to figure out why the "Callers" type panel does not display active QSO participant's call and information. Meaning, I am not getting any Callers displayed. I've noticed when in an active FT8 QSO exchange the station I'm working is not highlighted in the "All Decodes" group.

As far as I can tell "All Decodes" type works well; any of the other types I've tried work and display information. I can double-click on an entry and initiate a QSO.

But when calling CQ and getting a response WSJT-X starts to handle the exchange, nothing shows up in the  "Callers" panel.

Not sure where I went wrong in my configuration between the two programs.

My JTAlert Help Data:
WSJT-X Version         : 2.5.1
WSJT-X Revision        : f30d2c
WSJT-X Spec Op Mode    : None
WSJT-X UDP ID          : WSJT-X
WSJT-X UDP Port        : 2237
WSJT-X UDP Server      : 127.0.0.1
WSJT-X UDP MCast on LB : True
WSJT-X UDP Max Schema  : 3

Thanks!

OK Ed,,

I agree with your initial assessment, the event log didn't contain any useful information.

Is this a first time install of JTAlert for you or was it an upgrade of an older version? If older, what version was it?

JTAlert will throw error dialogs when it encounters fatal errors that are encountered while running the code, but there can be cases when no errors are shown if there a low-level fatal error, errors that cannot be predicted or reported on.

The next step would be to rule out a problem with the JTAlert config files or file storage where the files are located. Do the following...
  1. Terminate all JTAlert processes that may still be running despite the main JTAlert.exe not running. Look for JTAlertV2.Manager.exe and JTAlertV2.Decodes.exe
  2. Using Windows file explorer navigate to %LocalAppData%
  3. Find the HamApps directory under your %LocalAppData% directory tree and rename it HamAppsOld.
  4. Start JTAlert

Does JTAlert now start and stay open? If it does than you should be good moving forward, You will need to reenter your JTAlert settings.

Jim,

You need to run the "Rebuild Alert Database" under the Settings menu. This will cause JTAlert to examine your Log looking for entries with the necessary confirmation types set (per your requirements) in order to mark the Alert type entity as no longer needed.

This rebuild operation only needs to be performed when there have been updates to your log that affect your needed status, typically after a bulk log update when it has been synced with LoTW or eQSL or QSL cards received, depending on what you want confirmation type you require before an Entity is considered no longer needed.
