Hello Pat,

OK, looks like a syntax error in the code used to query the database to confirm that the QSO was correctly logged. The QSO is getting logged correctly as you discovered, it is just the confirmation message.

I suspect this is related to your Windows regional settings. Please, what is the version of Windows and the Regional Setting?

Hi Ron,

This should not happen.
If your HRD log is a MSAccess .mdb file and you still have the log that
was causing the error, please email it direct to me so I can
troubleshoot what is happening.

Until the cause is found I suggest you make a backup of your log before
trying to use the JT-Alert logging.

At this point it is unclear why that error is generated. I have been
logging to HRD Access, MySQL and MSSQL logs on a local PC and over a network to remote machines during tests and haven't seen this error. It
might be specific to your log and I will need to look at it. I will
walk-through the HRD components of my code today.

What's the purpose of the exact frequency match in there (as opposed to band match)?

Hi de Laurie and Scott also

Thanks for the reply to my trouble with loginng records to HRD logger.

AS was suggested I checked out what method I was (am) using. It is the HRD V5 (access).

I have set the file path in JT-Alert to C:\Users\......HRD Logbook\HRD My Logbook.mdb as scott said his was set.

I then wrote a file to it via HRD Logbook and it recorded it ok ..
atleast the "My logbook.mdb" file showed a change in the last time it was written to which matched the time i sent it.

I can also write a record to the JT65 log using the JT65 log button.

However I cannot get JT-Alert to write a record to HRD Log.

I have never gotten a Popup window.

Also the LotW upload in the HRD Logger screen is always Grayed out.
Is the normal?

When I installed HRD I did-not install it in the C: drive. I installed it in another drive. I has worked ok and still dose .. except for the problem.

Just remembered I have never been able to upload to LotW fro HRD .. I have ben using an upload utility by WD5AEA Which worked oK.

Let me know if yuo need more info. Thanks again for your Help.

You should get a popup window after logging, advising either success or

have the correct path set for the Log file, or DSN if using MSSQL or MySQL.

You are correct, JT-Alert writes an entry to the HRD Log File (MS Access
.mdb file) or the HRD ODBC Database connection (if using MSSQL or
MySQL). If you are unclear on which method you are using you will need
to read the "HRD Logbook.pdf" that gets installed in the HRDV5 program
directory. Someone must have set your log up initially, most likely
using the standard MS Access .mdb file.

You need to determine what sort of log type your using and then either
set the file path under the "HRD V5 (Access)" section of the JT-Alert
config or set the appropriate ODBC DSN under the "HRD V5 (ODBC DSN)"
section of the JT-Alert config.

The log file of "plot log mapper.adi" is not correct, the extension
should be .mdb, the name will be what ever was used when initially
setting up you HRD log.

I'm hoping someone with HRD experience jumps in here to offer you some
more HRD instruction.

This is going to be an option correct and not a full functional change to how B4's are handled?

If I've worked John WA3CAS on 20m, but now operating on 40m and see him calling CQ I only want to see him as B4 if I've worked him on 40m. Unless it is flagged or displayed in such a way that tells me I've worked him on another band but not the band I'm currently tuned to.

I know some ops take issue with answering their CQ if they've already been worked. I'm not 100% sure of what drives this behavior, but do respect their decisions. But I wouldn't think this would apply to a band not worked before.

Hi John,

So what you want is... say you have worked VK3AMA only on 20M, you are currently on 10M, VK3AMA is decoded on 10M calling CQ, you want that decode to show as a B4. Is that correct? If so, it is not currently possible unless the QRG in JT65-HF is set to zero, which I would see as undesirable if logging and or RBN spots are important to you.

Having said all that, I could add an option to JT-Alert to ignore the Band for B4 testing. Easy to do, it will be in the next release.

Dave,

Yes, I was using the external one. That was working up until last night. Now I'm not able to use the HRD Utilities to upload to LoTW, and I'm not able to upload from within the Logbook. Working on this with VA7HZ in Gtalk, and he said the logfile points to a permissions thing with my Win7. I am not clear on all this but I did grant permissions to all the programs. I installed TrustedQSL right at c:\TrustedQSL. HRD is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Amateur Radio\Ham Radio Deluxe directory. I think I need to learn about administrator privileges. Ron looked at the logfile from a failed upload and determined that's the issue. I'm completely lost at this time. Long live WinXP!

Laurie,

I think that Scott's problem is that he is using the external HRD Utilities
rather than the HRD LoTW upload tool in HRD 5.

Scott,

Maybe it is too early in the morning for me (still on first coffee), but
I don't understand this statement... "it doesn't tell me there is a QSO
not marked to be uploaded".

Are you saying that the QSO should be flagged for upload to LoTW and it
isn't? If so, I will need to have a look again at HRD and see if there
are additional QSL fields I can set.

I successfully am able to post to my HRD logbook, no problem at all. But,
when I bring up my HRD Utilities program after it's been received in the

Any workaround for this?
