George,

Just uninstall 2.4.9, your settings will not be lost.
If you not comfortable about that, you can manually backup the settings prior to the uninstall. Copy this directory (and all subdirectories) first.

Under Vista/7/8:   C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Ham-Apps\
Under XP:          C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Ham-Apps\

My wish list for JTAlert is speedier decoding of needed callsigns. When 20 meters is real busy with lots of stations being decoded by WSJT-x, it does not give hardly any time left to pick a callsign to answer a CQ. I wonder if its possible to have a feature to double click a callsign in the JTAlert window that will set up WSJT-x to answer a CQ? Just a thought. I really like the way it integrates with DXkeeper to log QSO's. Thanks Laurie!

Laurie,

Where do I get the installer for the older version (2.4.8) - it is not on the webpage any longer.

Should I uninstall the new version first then reinstall the old version or install the old version over the top of the new one then remove the new one - I do not want to lose all my configuration settings for CAT etc.

Also, will going back to the old version reinstate the previous bug that caused a lag in the decode that was fixed in 2.4.9?

Thanks!

Hamspots will tell you when he was last heard.

He seems to favour 17 meters and JT9 lately.

You can get JTAlert to notify you when his call is heard, or when HI is heard.

Bryan,

For Hawaii, try contacting KH6SAT via email to set-up a schedule. I know that he is on the air A LOT with the JT65 and JT9 modes. He operates most bands and I am sure that he would be pleased to help you with WAS.

Roley,

I wish us luck, I have been wanting HI, MT and NV for many months - I suppose really, since October 2002 when I started as M3OIC :-) I worked HI  in a contest but not in log, NV was worked when I was operating GB4AFR so doesn't count for M0OIC. The station worked in MT used to come up as worked in all searches by JT-Alert and HRD, but sadly that was incorrect as his callsign lived in Delaware when we actually worked.

Many thanks to the 47 successful contacts for helping me on my way.

Also many thanks of course to our JT65, JT9 and JT-Alert etc programmers for they have helped with a fair number, also to HRD programmers for my RTTY, PSK etc contacts and keeping them safely logged.

My day will come, but if it was too easy would we bother?

I still need NV, ID & WY and have done for well over a year since I restarted!

If you read the   ARRL for what qualifies as an official contact  for Field Day  or a  DX pile up it is even shorter as I recall?  Certainly not like phone where you can say "great Sig OM, your 59 here in never land -  gotta run have a nice day and thanks for  new contact.  But if you dont belong to or ascribe to ARRL then what?    I honestly try to temper my contacts with what is sent and the waterfall quality.   If they come back with an RRR I'm okay with it if I see a CQ on the next cycle.

Good question though and will bring some good comments   I hope.

I've wanted to ask about this many times but never got around to it.

There are times, conditions, crowding, and so forth, where I am
skeptical about whether the guy heard me. Copied me "enough" that the
sequence went through.

I am in Kentucky ... not rare . but not overloaded with JT9/JT65 people
and I/m on all bands to 432.

So if I call CQ and get a report .. and especially if it took an
additional sequence to get the report, and THEN I get 73, personally I
will not log it. Period. I QSY and call CQ again.

This is the same notion on EME where I hang out a little. There must be
a solid reason that the community agreed, at one time, on a proper
sequence to verify both parties actually made an official contact.
Otherwise it's nothing more that an SWL report. I don't wish to QSL SWL
reports as they do me n particular good for WAS, DXCC VUCC and so forth.

Lastly, over a years times, via the buro, I get numerous JT65 cards
claiming we had a QSO. After I research the stored digital decodes and
then try and use an online "Spots" database, I have, so far, found that
I didn't/couldn't work the person.

I run windows 7 with a slightly dark charcoal colored desktop
and I have Aero and the transparent glass settings that
allows you to see the text (numbers) in the band activity window better

Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance/Visual Effects/Custom

I also tweaked the colors of the active bands
JTAlert/Settings/Window/Band Activity Display/
Red = 50 or more stations
Yellow = 20-49 stations
Blue = 10-19 stations
White = 1-9 stations
dark gray = No stations

Hi Dale,

Unfortunately,multi-instance support was never re-enabled. WSJT-X changed the way it supports multi-instances and I am yet to test those changes.

Rather busy here juggling several projects so cant give an ETA on a release date.

Wherever you like.

You then need to tell JTAlert where the file is by using the "Select" button in the "Logging -> Stand ADIF File" Section of the Settings Window.
