Hi Bill,
Yes I am using the latest software.
On this example there is no display in the four windows?

I cannot see any RR73 or 73 in any of my decode windows?

on my setup, any call that appears in the 'all calls' window
has an icon that 'glows' when they send 73 or RR73 ...
seems to me that is quite sufficient, since if you can't see
them you wont know if they see you anyway.

Hello Barry-

Are you using the latest JTAlert? The callsigns window "Green Circles" spots with 73.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike,
I have already setup that window up and it does not put RR73 or 73 in unless they have just made a contact with you.
What I am looking for is all RR73 that are decoded on that time slot.
I find it is a easy way to see who I can call next if there is no one calling CQ?

I would like more selections, like  All RR73 decodes, All 73 decodes and ALL RR73/73 decodes.

locked Rebuild Alert Database

Don Kerouac K9NR

I'm a little fuzzy about the function of the "Rebuild Alert Database" function.

I had to replace my computer drive and re-install WSJT-X DXLab, JTAlert, etc.
Fortunately, I was able to access the failing drive and retrieve nearly all data, etc.

I placed the old log files in the now new (and empty) WSJT-X program.  I then
performed a "Rebuild Alert Database"  in JTAlert.
However, I am getting alerts for DXCC
entities that I do not need.  Also, all the "Wanted DXCC, Wanted CQ Zones, etc.
in JTAlert are still in the fresh install empty mode.

Any wisdom or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did I do this wrong or is it necessary to manually updates all these alert filters?

locked CQ Marathon alert has stopped clearing worked entities

Hello!

The CQ Marathon alert has stopped clearing worked entities. It worked before, although I am not sure exactly when it stopped working. I am currently running JT Alert 2.50.0 and logging to HRD Logbook. The checkbox to enable "Auto clear triggered alert entity after logging" is checked. I have had to manually move the worked entities. Is there anything else I need to check?

For QRZ Log uploads to be accepted you need a valid QRZ XML subscription. This is not a JTAlert requirement, but a QRZ requirement.

Do you have an XML subscription?

OM,

What Log type are you using with JTAlert?

You have a three options depending on how you want to approach the contest.
  1. If your contest participation is to work as many stations and multipliers as possible without any regard to you're current JTAlert needs. Start the contest with a new empty log then do a one-off Alert database rebuild which will take a second or two since the log is empty. At the end of the contest if you want to put the contest QSOs in your normal JTAlert log do an import of the contest QSOs. How you do that depends on the log type you're using, followed by an Alert database rebuild operation after switching back to your normal JTAlert log.

  2. If you're in the contest to pick up new ones as well as hand out numbers, set the JTAlert Worked B4 date to the date of the start of the contest. This will ensure that past QSOs before the contest will not be flagged as B4s and you will still be alerted to new ones you need. QSOs logged during the contest will be flagged as B4s. After the contest turn off the Worked B4 date. There is no need for an Alert database rebuild.

  3. If you're in the contest only to pickup new ones without any desire to work as many stations and multipliers as possible, you don't need to make any changes in JTAlert and treat the contest as just another day working the bands.

1. & 2. are essentially the same, except 1. leaves you with a dedicated contest log that you can use for submission and saving.

Right-click an existing message and click the "Save message text for reuse" menu entry. This will place that message into the drop-down control below the Message entry area.

If you don't have an existing message to save, simply send a message to yourself then use the right-click context menu as described above.
