Mike,

Thanks for the tip.  Deleting the directory restored the JTAlert Main window and the alerts have been reconfigured. So everything looks "normal" now.  However:

1. no WSJT-X decodes are being seen in the Call Signs window

2. When double clicking on a callsign in the WSJT-X main window that call sign does not appear immediately to the left of the Name box in the JTAlert main window.

3. When a QSO is completed and the WSJT-X Log QSO button is pressed the QSO is properly logged in his main logger (ACLog).

4. Both WSJT-X and JTAlert are set up for unicast.  The settings I made in my friend's system are the same as in my system which works properly.

I will try to set up both for multicast tomorrow.

All,

I am assisting a local ham to troubleshoot the following problem.

He has upgraded from an earlier version of JTAlert 2.16.17 I believe to version 2.50.5 X64.  .NET 5 Desktop has been installed and NET Framework Check indicates the install was successful.

With WSJTX 2.5.0-rc5 X64 running he starts JTAlert, the reading settings box appears and then closes, and the Callsigns Window opens.  The main jtalert window never opens and call signs do not appear in the Callsigns Window even though they are being decoded and displayed by WSJT-X.

Task Manager indicates JTAlertV2.Manager is running.

Any suggestions as to the next steps to take in troubleshooting this issue?

Thanks,

I went from an early 2.x version (2.05 I think) to the newest version, and now it does not monitor any longer from WSJT .  I installed the .Net 64 bit .  Ideas?

Try removing C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\HamApps

That will start it all over again with a new config.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but to no avail.

Just make the window active. Click anywhere on the window then use the F2 Key. That will open the Options popup the same as if you clicked the gear icon if it was visible. This is the standard hotkey across all the windows for opening their associated Options windows.

Make the Callsigns window active then use the F2 key to open its Options popup window. From there you will be able to uncheck the "Size locked" setting allowing you to resize the window.

Never had a problem before scanning all and rebuild.  What did I do wrong. Any help appreciated.
Gary,

A number of HRD users have experienced various problems in recent months. The exact cause is unknown, but it is related to using an MSAccess log in HRD. I suspect it is something within the Log file itself or in the ODBC DSN used to read/update the log, likely caused by a Windows update. The usual fix is to perform an export of your current log, create a new Log in HRD and import the previous export, then switch JTAlert to using that new Log. In a very small number of cases, creating a new HRD MSAccess log didn't correct the behavior, but upgrading to using a MariaDB log did. HRD themselves recommend using MariaDB rather than MSAccess type logs.

NOT RESPONDING

I have been getting this response for over a month ever since new computer win 10 have using JTAlert 2.50.5. .NET 5 Desktop Runtime installed… When I first start JTAlert all the colors of the letters are Black and the cursor is in the Name Box flashing, after a few minutes the cursor disappears and the color of the letters turn to gray… If I click in the name box the color of the letters again tune BLACK as if to turn it back ON…….. If the letters are gray and I click on someone sending CQ the persons call appears at the far left of the JTAlert box…  and at the top line of the box it says NOT RESPONDING.  1 out of 10 times the boxes will fill.   If I go to QRZ.com and bring up the person who I just worked and start doing a copy/past the boxes suddenly fill.  No problem logging but then info in the boxes will not clear I have to RESET

NOW

If I click on a person sending CQ and the letters are BLACK and the cursor is flashing in the name box all information boxes will fill and after logging QSO all boxes empty…….   Same things happen with or without antivirus or firewalls  (Avast or windows defender firewall)   HELP
