Like the saying goes, "Garbage In = Garbage Out".

I just ran my validation code against this new Eqsl AG file and got the following...

While 271 bad callsigns out of 113K is not a significant number, the causes of those bad callsigns is significant, IMO. It shows a lack of data validation on Callsign registration at the Eqsl end. I considered a bad callsign as any that contain characters that are not a number, letter or "/". The list of bad callsigns showed spaces, underscores, hyphens, brackets, etc.

On the plus size, the 26K non-uploaders help reduce the Callsign database.

Calls that do not generate an alert can not have their background
changed.

Calls that generate an alert (with or without a badge) take on the
background assigned for that alert.

Colors of the badges are set in the Options -> Badges of the Callsigns

This is exactly the problem that I am having with Windows 10.

I downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable and tried to install it but it would not install because I apparently already had it installed. I am stuck with not being able to update JTAlert!

It simply takes too long to query QRZ for every US station in a decode
period, evaluate that against a list of valid counties, and make a
decision all in the 2-3 seconds between RX and TX periods. That also
doesn't include the issues of dealing with "non-counties" (independent
cities).

Frankly, I don't think JTAlert could query QRZ.com for as many as 15-20
US stations in the allowable time (or that QRZ.com would allow that).

Mel,

I don't know why the FrameworkCheck.exe is failing on 32 bit systems, I need to spin up a 32bit VM. It may be due to being on Win7. It is compiled as "Any CPU" which means it should run under both 32 and 64 bit systems.

The good news is that despite the check failing, JTAlert has still been installed. The Installer is simply auto-running the FrameworkCheck executable at the end after JTAlert has been installed.

If you have the .NET 5 Desktop Runtime installed, you are good to run JTAlert 2.50.0. Give it a go.

This is a very common problem with Windows. A quick Google search results in hundreds of thousands hits. You appear to be missing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. Either it has been removed from your PC or its installation is faulty.

JTAlert doesn't have any C++ code so doesn't need this, but the .NET runtime installer likely does, but that is only a guess. Many applications need this, so it is worthwhile getting your system updated into a good state.

Tnx Mike,

I was not aware of the existence of this file.

I'll start using it with the next Callsign Database release. Date filtering of Eqsl callsign flagging in JTAlert will take some work, it will not be in the next release, but is definitely on the todo list.

EQSL will not allow me to post QSO's when I operate portable. I have tried to work with those folks, but I have not been able to move them.
I do a LOT of portable work.  At least in LOTW, I can easily set up numerous locations that I have worked from in TQSL.
Their stance that they will not support operations from a portable Location makes no sense to me.

For that reason I have given up posting to EQSL  many years ago.

Cosimo,

Sorry, it is not possible. The official AG membership list provided by eQSL does not contain any Dates, just a long list of Callsigns, many of which are not valid Callsigns either. For JTAlert I remove the obvious bad Callsigns, but there is nothing I can do about date filtering.

If eQSL ever provide an official list of AG Callsigns with their date of last upload, similar to LoTW, then I will update JTAlert.
