Hi Richard.

To use both JTAlerts & GridTracker you need to flip what you are doing.
Let GridTracker listen on Port 2237, then turn on "Forward UDP Messages" to another port box (IE: 2238) in GT.  In GT these settimgs are in the General tab of settings.

For this to work, you MUST launch GridTracker first, then JTAlerts.  JTAlerts automatically finds the port that WSJT-X is using, so when you launch GT first, JTA will see port 2238 (in my example) and listen there.   It does not seem to work the other way around.

You can also turn on "Multicast" but if you just want to run the 2 programs simultaneously, it is not necessary.

This setup seems to work OK.  I have tested it and I have a friend that does it routinely.

If you are logging to DXLab, HRD, etc., you have to decide which program you want to do the logging so that you do not get duplicate entries.  You may also want to decide which of the two to use for sound alerts.

Running JTAlert ver 2.16.10 and WSJT-X 2.12 . I am continually getting the "Wanted Country" alert when I already worked the country, in some cases more than once. It doesn't alert on all countries, only on 4 or 5. When I get that alert on countries I have already worked I go and delete it from the wanted call-sign list. It comes back and confirms that it has been deleted but I keep getting the alert. I have closed the app and restarted it but it doesn't make any difference. Any ideas.

The "Wanted Country" and "Wanted Callsign" alerts are two different animals and are independent.

If your getting a "Wanted Country" alert for a Country you no longer need it is because that Country (dxcc) is still listed for that Band/Mode (depending on how your tracking dxccs) as needed. A Country will only stop being alerted once it is no longer set as needed.

You need to update your Country needs database by running the "Rebuild Alert Database" operation, that will automatically scan your log and remove dxccs that are no longer needed based on your QSL requirements. If your not using a Log with JTAlert then you will need to manually remove those dxccs.

Based on my limited Internet search, depending on the OS and NetFilter version being used, possible file names are Netfilter64.sys, Netfiler2.sys and Netfilter.sys. A file-system search on Netfilter*.sys or Netfilter*.* should identify if the product is living on the affected PC.

If an installed application using NetFilter is affecting the OPs VPN service, it is likely a paid application rather than a free application given that NetFilter is a paid, subscription based, SDK, IMO.

JTAlert does not use the NetFilter SDK. Until your post, I was not aware of this product.

If you're lucky, the offending application may install the NetFilter files within its own installation directory rather than the Windows System directories so that may help isolate the application. Try doing a file search on Netfilter*.sys

FWIW Jon, I use Private Internet Access here.  It's a subscription VPN service and it does do split-tunnel as well.  I have never had the issue you're describing but it would be interesting to find out the results of their checking.

Release Notes.

2.16.10 (28-Jul-2020)

*** Includes Callsign database file version 2020-07-28 (2020-Jul-28)

  New Features:

    - Lotw adif files: The QSL_RCVD fields used by LoTW are now treated as
LOTW_QSL_RCVD fields. If the Adif file header indicates the file was sourced
from LoTW, the QSL_RCVD to LOTW_QSL_RCVD translation is automatic.

  Changes:

    - Band Activity Display: Has been renamed to Mode Activity Display.

    - Windows notification sounds: The single sound option (introduced with 2.16.9)
has been extended to two independant sound/volume options. One sound for
"Errors & Failure" and the other for "Success & Information" notifications.

  Fixes:

    - Windows user names with accented characters: Functions, like Band Activity,
Text Messages, Sound play, not working when the %localappdata% path contained
accented characters (Windows user name has these characters, eg. Jesús).
Caused by a defect in a 3rd party code library that applied incorrect Json
data encoding to accented characters sent to the JTAlertV2.Manager process.
       (2.15.1 defect).

I found the issue was with Windows media player itself as it just hung when trying to play any wave sound files from anywhere directly.

I went through SFC /scannow routine, DSIM analysis, and restore to 3 days previous to the error,  no change. Also tried SAFE mode.

This morning I did a repair / in place install of Windows 10, and again not resolved.

I found a workaround by setting the defaults to ‘Groove music’. VLC and others would not play JTAlerts but this one worked.

Hope this helps

My rig is a Yaesu 897D win10 64
When starting wsjtx a note opens saying "Rig failure Hamlib error:Target VFO
unaccessible  while getting current frequency".
I really don't know where to look and fix the problem.
Appreciate all the help (simplified) to move forward with the program.

Good afternoon Laurie, I will try to explain myself better and I trust the Google translation ...

Under normal conditions, when I am working in WSJT, in the band, example, 20 meters, when opening the searched DXCC, the data is represented in the 20 meter band; If you are in the 4 meter band, when performing the same operation, the data sheet with the 160 meter band title appears.
Well it is true, as you just indicated, that you can access by clicking on the corresponding band, and it is so, it works.

It is not a band that has activity and that is why I did not use it and did not know that it comes out like 160 meters, but with the solution provided, you change it that is important.

I see an error opening Wanted DXCCs .. on the 4 meter band, because the 160 meter band comes out.
I observed it in the previous version, 2.16.09 and it persists in this new version .....

I can't replicate this behavior. Clicking the appropriate Band button on the DXCC Alert settings will display the required Band.

What makes you think that 160m is being displayed rather than 4m?

No improvements :(
I did set priority to real time and installed right off the C: drive root.
Laurie - The EXE file (in zip form) is on the way.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THIS GREAT SUPPORT!

I deleted all the file & folders including those in localappdata.
Scanned and cleaned anything in the registry.
Re-booted, re-installed. Made sure no programs were running in the background. Got the same error with one minor change; instead of line 22238 it is now 22265.

If that folder/files deletion included the JTAlert installation directory, my only other suggestion is that you try installing to a different location out-side the "Program Files..." directories. I am thinking a possible security/permissions issue, perhaps something broken within the File System.

Its probably worth running an Disk Error check, you may have a bad sector.
