Jona,
How I got by it was turning Defender off. Download and install and then turn Defender back on.

Craig, your post says you have been able to get the latest installation installed. If so how did you manage this. Or was that a typo? I have not been able to get JTAlert to install this time. In the past it has always worked with the exception listed for Windows Defender but not this time. Each time I have tried it even deletes or moves the JTAlert install program from my downloads folder.

You have to open Windows Defender quarantine and "Allow" the JTAlert download. Then you can download it again and install it. I assume you added a folder exception for the directory Programs (x86)\HamApps Mike W9MDB

Re: DXCC Country Count Off
Harry Williams
I found the problem. Log4OM had station WP2B country listed as “United States”. It should have been US Virgin Islands. Once I corrected it the country count was fixed. Thanks Laurie for your reply and for your outstanding software!

Neil, I use Norton (at least for now), and very rarely get an actual virus warning. What I do get is a message saying the file is new, there are very few users, and it isn't trusted (or words to that effect). I click on "Trust" and all is well. 73, Jim N6VH

Installation of latest JTAlert Update
Craig
Hi Laurie - I hope your doing well. As others have noted, there is an install issue associated with Windows Defender and/or with the installed virus software. I have read response posts from the group but even with turning off or adding an exception file reference, have I been able to get successfully download / install the latest software. Is there a recommendation that you have or have published for this install?

Mine always shows all zeros. Tried changing the number of records, but still all zeros. How do you turn it on? Thanks 73 Herb WB8ASI Herb, Is the Decodes window being updated while the Statistics is not? How big is your decoded database (number of records)? Probably the easiest fix is to delete the decodes database before starting JTAlert. You should only need to do this the once. Delete all files with a name starting with "decodes", there may be up to 3 files. In the following directory %localappdata%\HamApps\JTAlert\YOUR_CALLSIGN\Decode\ de Laurie VK3AMA

The JTA grid alert is now working properly, finally, after reverting back to normal configurations (in JTAlert, DXKeeper, WSJT) after the VHF contest.
Once I determine what had gone wrong earlier, during the contest, that will be posted here. Thanks again Laurie and Tom. 73 de Mark. (Sorry about the two separate postings on this topic.)

Heck no rush at all from me - it’s the 1st time in 2-3 years of using JTA that I looked at that option. Just reporting it in case it was significant. Tom --

Tom, Your correct, it is not normal. On first display all counts will be zero but they get updated as the statistics gathering code, run on an independent thread, starts returning results. It is unclear why your not initially getting results. de Laurie VK3AMA

Follow-up - just went and clicked View -> Number of records and upped it to 500 - woosh the Statistics window populated. Tom, The number of viewed records should not affect the Statistics display. I always run with 100. I suspect a timing issue. Unfortunately, the code base for the Decodes window, originally ported over from the ongoing JTAlertV3 project has become obsolete and is no longer receiving any significant updates or feature additions, only defect fixes if they don't involve significant code changes. Eventually the new JTAlertV3 version of the Decodes window will be ported over to JTAlertV2, but there is no ETA on that. de Laurie VK3AMA
