Laurie, you don't see the From lines?

No, I gave up reporting the error.. your answer is always the same.
It makes no difference what port I choose to have wsjt-x or jtdx to use the results are the same.
consequently I don't bother to turn on the 7300.  everything worked fine when I loaded everything back in 2016..

I had that issue a week or so back and it was fixed by Laurie who posted the reason on here.

Your alerts probably have no path defined for the wave files. I used the defaults for all mine and it worked.

I really appreciate JTAert. It truly adds to the low signal experience. Seems every other day I am learning new things it can do to make FT8 more fun. This group helps a lot in the learning.

Thanks for the reply Laurie.  Disabling protection software makes no difference, and Clear and Refresh give no response.  Here is the error window I get.

Sometimes there is another window that flashes on and immediately off when I exit, but it's too fast to read.

Do you have a .wav selected for each alert? If so, have you tested it to make certain it is working? Is the volume slider far enough up?

DUH! Because my grid is in the standard messages (from WSJT-), I didn't pay attention to the Call sign screen (even though I did look at it for something else). Old settings probably got wiped when I was trying to solve my slow form update problem.

Laurie,

I do get the screen as shown in your email and confirmed that JTAlertV2 Manager is running.  However,  I noticed that the band activity window had not updated since July 2.  I then temporarily shut down the virus protection software (ZoneAlarm) and shutdown/restarted JT-Alert..  The band/activity time then updated and continued to update and the log details window began to be properly updated based on the XML lookup as well.  What is strange is that even after restarting the protection software, the band activity and xml lookup continued to function.  So all is functional at the present time.  As far as the band activity/xml lookup,  what should be allowed in the ZoneAlarm protection software.

By the way,  JT-Alert is an excellent piece of software.

This is why there was no .record file to examine the xml data that goes
into that file was never received due to the username/password error.

I also note that all your session files are dated Jul-02, nothing since
which corresponds to the above error file.

For some reason, all of the status files created/update by the
JTAlertV2.Manager.exe process are also dated Jul-02 suggesting that the
Manager process is not getting run. If it is not running, than xml
lookups will not be actioned along with Alert sounds and online log uploads.

I used your config file and xml lookups worked correctly indicating that
the username/password currently set are correct.

Please run JTAlert again, leave for 2 minutes and then use the
Help->About menu to check the status of the Manger. It should show
similar to this...

If you don't get similar to the above, open TaskManager and check if the
JTAlertV2.Manager.exe process is running. JTAlert automatically (at 2
second intervals) try and start that process if it detects it not running.

If the Manager is not running, likely your PC protection software is
interfering, as prior to Jul-02 all was working correctly.

Paul, AC9O

Paul,

What you see is expected behavior due to how WSJT-X supports Callsign coloring.

The WSJT-X implementation, by design is very simple to keep overheads at a minimum. The coloring instruction specifies the Text to be colored, while this is typically a Callsign, it is not limited to Callsigns, it employs a very simple text search without regard to the message type of a decode so it doesn't distinguish between the two  callsigns of a typical decode.

In your example, JTAlert sent a coloring command for ON5YT as he was decoded and generate an Alert as a result all ON5YT callsign in the recent period were colored, including the decodes where stations were calling ON5YT.

You will often see this when Stations are calling a DX station in the same period that the station is transmitting and the DX station generates an alert resulting in coloring of the Callsign regardless of the decode message structure.

same issue here..
you can try 'livetcpudpwatch-x64.zip'  from nir soft.  www.nirsoft.net
in my case it shows wsjtx sourcing udp packets on local port 65083 to remote port 2237 and JTAlert receiving on local port  2237 from remote port 65083..  and the sent/rec packet count matches..  in my case at the moment 312.
and NO JTA does not decode anything.
the app even reports the bit rate and process location on machine.
LiveTcpUdpWatch uses event tracing API to get live information from Windows Kernel about every TCP/UDP packet sent/received on your system. As opposed to CurrPorts, it captures all UDP activity with process information, but without the need of using a network sniffer.

Distance and Bearing are automatically determined and displayed in the Callsign tooltip, but only if both your gridsquare and the decoded callsign gridsquare are known.

Check that you have set your Gridsquare in the JTAlert Settings window, Station Callsign section.
