Rodger,

There have been no other reports of an inability to enter the startup parameters of any of the auto-start apps. Once you have selected the required application, the parameters edit field will be enabled. I suspect your trying to add the parameter at the end of the command line which is not possible. Is that what your trying to do? If so, you need to enter the JT-Macros startup switch  in the parameters field as shown...

When you get round to it can you have a look at the Applications/Auto-Start Feature in JT-Alert-x. I am unable to key in the /WSJTX switch after inserting the call C:\Program Files (x86)\....\JT-Macros.exe As a result it calls the Macro Set for JT65-HF. At the moment I have to call up the JT-Macros-x manually. Allowing manual Key in at the auto-start should get around the small problem?

Re: [Ham-Apps] Log4OM database type

John,

I had become sidetracked with WSJT-X and JT9 support that I had forgotten about the promise made (in version 2.1.0) to support Log4OM MySQL logs. It wont be difficult to implement as 80% of the code is already written due to the MySQL support of HRD. I'll try and tackle it over this coming week.

John,

To retain JT-Alert functionality, I suggest you use the SQLite format log file and then move to MySQL by doing an adif export from SQLite and import  that adif into the MySQL DB once I have MySQL supported available.

Hi Laurie.....as you know im using Linux..Ubuntu 13.04 and the Gnome desktop
i had a bright thought this afternoon and it goes like this

i have a laptop with Windows 7 on it and i use a Rigblaster Advantage for the interface
from the FT-450D to the computer.
The interface has a speaker out socket and i connected it to the mic in on the laptop
installed WSJTX v 95 r3243 and set it up to decode the same signals as the Linux box was
then d/l JT-Alert 2.2.2. and installed and installed it on the laptop and configured it
now i get both o/s decoding sigs and the JT-Alert showing and alert both visible and sound alerts

a neat way to get JT-Alert to work when you cant use it on Linux

locked Software updates gone wrong

G. E. Janssens - K5WW <k5ww@...>

Hi Laurie,

The email I wanted to send you last night, but forgot:

Yesterday I fired up JT-Alert-X, version 2.2.0. Seconds later, in its status bar, I saw the "updates!" message.

So I went to the Settings and the Program Updates, and saw that version 2.2.2 was available. I clicked the button and the upgrade installer was downloaded.

That installer was executed shortly thereafter. It asked me for the installation path, etc., everything good so far.

After some more time however I got an "error" message, more like a "request" message, really. The installer (among other things) told me that it couldn't update JT-Alert because it was in use (true). The only option I had was to shut JT-Alert down via the Task Manager (XP SP3).

After it was shut down I clicked the Retry button. The update program started over; but this time told me that it couldn't continue because the installer itself was running! I could have shut that down with Task Manager too, but it would have been pointless; because I'd only end up back on square one, with the same problem.

So I ended up shutting down everything, and downloaded the update from your website, then ran it. That, of course, went smooth as always.

I've had this problem before, many months ago, when I wanted to update the "old" JT-Alert. The problem was the same, the solution too. I don't know if this problem is unique to my PC; I've never seen anyone else mention it (but you probably know I joined the mailing list quite late).

Regardless, I did a Yahoo list search, and came up with nothing...

Bug? Or buggy PC?

Thanks, 73,

Scott,

I briefly looked at ACLog in the past, but due to the non-standard structure of the log file, I didn't have the time to fully explore how the log was written and integrate into JT-Alert.

It is on my todo list. I'll locate the original correspondence I had with N3FJP and try to revisit it over the next week or two.

Are you saying that JT-Alert is no longer logging to DXKeeper? If so, have you checked that DXKeeper logging is enabled? You should see "[DXK]" in the JT-Alert title bar if it is enabled.

If this is for JT-Alert-X working with WSJT-X then you will need to set the appropriate settings in the Settings Window as you JT65-HF settings are NOT migrated to the WSJT-X settings of JT-Alert.

I seem to recall form another group mention of wsjt-x lock-ups when using the halt tx button.

JT-Alert and JT-Macros will use the wsjt-x shortcut keys for halting tx but only if instructed by the user to do so. I believe this is a wsjt-x issue.

Laurie, VK3AMA <groups04@...>

Not JT-Alert or JT-Macros.

The only Internet servers that JT-Alert tries to access are HamSpots.net for spot posting and Ham-Apps.com for checking on available updates. Both websites are on a VPS managed by myself.
