If I understand correctly, you start WSJT-X manually, and then start JTAlert. Is it possible that you have JTAlert set to start WSJT-X. From your description, that seems that is what is happening. Try this. First, make certain there are no instances of WSJT-X running. The best way to do this is to restart your computer. Then, without starting WSJT-X, start JTAlert and see if that works.

You have to share the folder from your logging computer (Computer A) with the other computer (Computer B) that is also running WSJTX. Then you have to provide the log database from Computer A as the database to reference on Computer B. So they both have the same database file on Computer A in use. Then you tell JTAlert to log to each computer's logbook. Since Computer B is using the database from Computer A, it will be logged to it. You will have to refresh the log windows occasionally when each computer is logging to the same database.

This took me a while to figure out but I finally have it working correctly. You can search on HRD forums to find out how to share the database from one computer with another computer on the same network.

False positive.
Whitelist the JTAlert folder.

I turned on the computer this AM and tried to start JT Alert and Windows Defender said there was a dangerous severe virus threat...."Azden.A!l" so I removed it and JT Alert says it needs some file.  I thought I had deleted it with the vius aso I download again and would not install for the same virus.  Anyone else having this problem and any suggestions.

Thanks,

By the '1st person who had to do this' I meant run the program in compatibility mode.  That has never been given as advice here.

FWIW ... I've been using JT-Alert for years under Win7, Win8.1, and Win10 without issues.

In any case, glad to hear its now working under Win 10>

As far as I know, you're the first person who had to do this, as it works fine in Windows 10 on compatible hardware.

What error message were you getting before you did this?

The help is pretty good - access via the ? on settings menu or Windows -> Programs -> HamApps -> JTAlert Help

The tutorials and FAQ cover a lot - yes couple of little things are missing but between the Help and searching the archives here should get you round most things.

Hi Steve,

what leads to believe that you need any DLLs that are not provided by the JTAlert installer. Perhaps your AV product has detected a false positive for malware and has quarantined one or more components of JTAlert. If so then tell your AV product to restore the files.

Hi Steve,

the other option is that you have not installed a recent version of Microsoft .Net.
