Bernie,

The only way (with the current JTAlert V2 series) is by performing a "Scan Log" operation. This requires a logger to be enabled with JTAlert. If your logger is not supported, the easiest way would be to perform an ADIF export and point JTAlert at that adif file (that is set JTAlert to use ADIF logging).

FYI, the future JTAlertV3 (many months from release however) has an option to import a list of worked Grids (either adif or csv file) without the need to setup logging if it is not required.

With my version of JTAlert 2.16.4, i have no HELP window.  I downloaded this to work

with my Log4OM a couple weeks ago.  At one time i did have the Help window because

i used it to set up Log4om.  I am running Win 7 Pro and WSJT is 2.1.2 so i'm current

on my software.  What could have happened to it?  It was suggested that i try the Alt.

version but i think that was for WIN 10 users only.  HELP is not off screen,

it just flat doesn't show up at all.

I can't call up wsjtx until DxLab Commander is running. So I let DxLab call it all up in order.

I'll nevertheless take a look at how JtAlert might call up stuff before JTAlert actually ran.

That isn't the problem. I AM calling up the correct JtAlert AS IF I was using the HamApps Shortcuts in the start-menu area. Same call, same pass parameters. And I get the blue icon of jtalert going to that other program.

Oddly, this just happened. No changes that I know of. Suddenly I was appearing to not run JtAlert /wsjtx.

See, there is one Icon shown the correct JtAlert association. There is another showing the incorrect one.

just try to use the correct jtalert shortcut ( if you can set that)

the easier way, I think , is to just use the correct colour jtalert shortcut, and let it do as I said,   even can call up dxk log program, etc

I know of no other way to start JTAlert with a pass-param, inside DxLabs

So, I see both icons for the running process JTAlert . but they tell me

I think this was discussed a while back but was supposed to have been corrected.  If I hover over a callsign in a callsign display slot, I used to get bearing and distance entries reliably. They seem to only be included occasionally now. What is odd is that if I hover over the same callsign during the next cycle the data can sometimes show up miraculously. I'm not sure where this data is being pulled from but I use QRZ XML membership service and also have QRZ checked under online logbooks with an API key. Ideas?

Thanks and 73,
Howard W6HDG
The Bearing and Distance will only be shown for Callsigns that have produced a decode that included their grid. If no Grid then it is impossible to calculate the Bearing & Distance.

JTAlert does cache grid data for the current session which will allow for the the Distance display for decodes that had no grid.

Stations with complex long callsigns (eg the STAYHOME callsigns) never produce a standard decode with the Grid so will never have the Distance data shown. JTAlert never attempts to determine missing grid data from free-text messages, it needs to be in a standard decode.

Grid data is never pulled from an XML lookup for the real-time decodeing. It only uses that xml data when logging a QSO.

What version of JTAlert?
What version of WSJT-X?

If your running a older versions, upgrade it to the latest versions (JTAlert 2.16.4 & WSJT-X 2.1.2) and see if that corrects the problem.

Running 2.16.4 on Windows 10 Pro

When I attempt to enable an alert, for example "Wanted US State", JTAlert crashes.
I can immediately relaunch JTAlert, the alert has been enabled and everything runs fine.
I have been able to reproduce this with "Wanted DXCC" as well.

What information can I provide to help diagnose this?
