You forgot one step ... if you want JTAlert to update HRD, turn off direct updates from WSJT-X, or else you'll get duplicate entries.

Installed 2.16.4 (using it with JT DX) and seem to have lost link to QRZ. Checked details in logging section but QSOs post update have not been automatically transferred to QRZ.com. Closed JT Alert and tried Grid Tracker and communicaion worked to QRZ. Anyone else experienced any issues?

Thanks

Pretty much as Bill said.

If you are looking at JTAlert to see DXCC worked, etc then:

Perhaps you did not click SAVE on the JTAlert screen where you selected Scan and Rebuild Log after Applying to your log.

I have always first selected Sync LOTW QSOs & QSLs on the QSL screen of DXKeeper before running SCAN & REBUILD in JTAlert.
Otherwise JTAlert will not pick up the updated log status.

If the states you have worked are already in DXKeeper then the Scan & Rebuild should pick them up after you have synced with LOTW.

73  Walt - W6SA

You MUST select SAVE to have this applied to JTAlert after the Scan & Rebuild otherwise it does not update the JTAlert stats.

Neither.

It indicates that the station has the SMS function of JT-Alert enabled.

Crawl before you walk.

Start by getting WSJT-X  working.  There is excellent docs produced for this package.

WSJT-X produces an ADIF log.   Master that system well.

Next,  get HRD logging from WSJT-X  directly — that is the next milestone.

Finally insert JTAlert into the logging path.

Take it in  small steps and ask for help in the various forums.

Be very specific about your question and you will get plenty of help.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks Bill ... this was VERY helpful.  I now understand this feature ... I have eQSL all synced up and reconfigured DXKeeper to work correctly ... next up is to add the US states to the log records before I started with JTA ... then update LoTW

thanks again ... be safe

+ AA6YQ comments below

I have been using JTAlert and DXKeeper for quite time. I usually run FT4 using WSJT. There have been a number of times that during a session I get an answer to a CQ from stations that I may have worked an hour ago. I can go and bring up DXKeeper and click to bring the whole log up but soon as I make another contact the log goes away and only the station I just worked shows to confirm it was logged. I have been using HRDLog.net since it auto-logs and the logs stays up. I was wondering if there is a way of doing this with DXKeeper and if so, how.

+ To immediately remove the filtering from DXKeeper's Log Page Display, click the X button in the Filter panel at the bottom of its Main window's "Log QSOs" tab.

+ To configure JT-Alert to not direct DXKeeper to filter the Log Page Display to show only QSOs with a new "DX Call" in WSJT-X, uncheck the "DXKeeper Lookup on new DX Call" box in the DXKeeper panel in the "DXLab Suite" sub-section of the Applications section in the left-hand pane of JT-Alert's Settings window.

+ Note that JT-Alert does not need to direct DXKeeper to filter its Log Page Display in order to confirm that a QSO was logged.

I would say that I get about 95% of this message when logging a QSO. There have been times when I get the message saying QSO logged automatically and works well when it does. I have to manually hit okay to save it to WSJT-X log file.

I have been off-line since Feb 2018 earning a new license in a new country, now Intermediate TI4JWC.
Much has changed in 2.5 years. I am having problems getting a working configuration. I have had to build up an old laptop as my primary  3.2 Gig PC has bad audio driver problems. 1.8 Gig laptop has current Windows 10 pro, Radio is Genesis G11 SDR connected to PI SDR pro USB- Ethernet interface to Power SDR 2.5.3 ext 4.8.6. I am using the  current software  HRD 6.7.0.275, JTAlert 2.16.4, WSJT-X 2.1.0, DDUtil 4.0.1.09. Side items, VAC 4.62,VPS Manager 1.0.3.01.

Back in 2018 it was JT65 and JT9. Just now I have read the FT8 users guide. I have tried only two QSOs bit I am not able to get all the logging I need. HRD, LOTW, eQSL, QRZ. I have been following all the rapid FT4 updates just to keep software current but plan to stay with FT8. Even this is testing my brain as I near 70 my quick term memory is fading. I was hoping to read the WIKI here but find it is not developed. As near as I can tell I have about 300 options that need to be correct before all is in alignment. All help will be appreciated. If this is not the correct forum for this conversation I can go DM at N0URE  at ya   hoooo dot you-know.

Hi Ian,

you would normally review your award progress and goals using DXKeeper. Are you uploading your completed QSOs to LoTW and eQSL, and synchronizing matches with QSO partners in DXKeeper?

JTAlert scans your log, in this case DXKeeper, to update its internal lists of things worked and confirmed so it can highlight decodes of stations you might wish to work.
