Note to self:
When writing a batch file to start WSJT-X and JT-Alert -X, make sure WSJT-X starts first.
Otherwise things don't work right.

David,

Did you restart JT-Alert-X? If so, does the problem still occur?

The code used to log to MixW is identical (same plugin used) for JT-Alert and JT-Alert-X.

A new version, 2.2.0 of JT-Alert is available. Also JT-Macros version 2.2.0

Both these support working with WSJT-X.

Important notes about JT-Alert-X, the name for JT-Alert when running in wsjt-x mode.
  • There is no separate executable, only an additional desktop shortcut that will start JT-Alert in WSJT-X mode.

  • When JT-Alert-X is first run, it sets up a new configuration file exclusively for JT9. Your existing JT65 config is safe and unchanged.

  • When you run JT-Alert-X for the first time, it is important to open the Settings and setup your Own Callsign and the logging. Also check the Wanted Alerts to make sure they have their sounds set correctly. Note: settings you have for JT65 are not migrated to the JT9 settings so be sure to check your settings.

  • This new JT9 configuration maintains JT9 only Wanted lists, separate from your existing JT65 lists. You may want to do a Log Scan to update the lists by reading your existing log for JT9 QSOs.

  • Since the JT-Alert-X configuration is independent of your existing JT-Alert (for JT65) configuration, it is possible to run JT-Alert (for JT65) and JT-Alert-X (for JT9) concurrently.

  • If you wish to auto-start JT-Macros in WSJT-X mode, setup JT-Alert-X to start JT-Macros.exe and enter "/wsjtx" (without the quotes) in the parameters field.
Visit the Ham-Apps.com webpage for the direct download link. It is recommended that you upgrade your sounds and database files as well as there have been some minor internal changes and some bug fixes.

locked Re: Docking behaviour changed in 2.1.1

Laurie, VK3AMA <groups04@...>

Hi Ed,

Well after a month on and off trying to debug the cause of the behaviour, I finally found the answer.

It was a new feature added in 2.1.0, nothing to do with docking and the underlying code. It was the
Decoded Callsign mouse-hover tooltip I introduced!
At startup, the docking worked as expected, with JT-Alert coming forward when JT65-HF was made active. It was after the first set of decodes and the subsequent updating of each callsign slot tooltip data that the coming forward would break. All "bog-standard" Windows code and the code for JT-Alert to follow JT65-HF was identical to the code for JT65-HF following JT-Alert forward, which never broke.

End result, nothing wrong with my code, it is something within the compiler and the code it generated. Ditching the Compilers inbuilt ToolTip functions and writing my own using low-level api commands and problemn is fixed. Insert "Happy Dance" here ;)

This fix will be in the next release.

Laurie,

This is not directly related to auto-start, but perhaps it is somewhat related. I have upgraded to JT-Alert 2.1.1 and it seems that its behaviour with respect to JT65-HF has changed.

If I run JT65-HF and JT-Alert together, I choose the option to lock JT-Alert to the top of the JT65-HF window. In versions before 2.1, I could "cover-up" JT65-HF and JT-Alert with some other application (usually PowerSDR in  my case) and when I made JT65-HF active again, JT-Alert would follow. Now, JT-Alert remains minimized and I have to click on its icon in the tray to make it visible with JT65-HF. As far as I can tell, all options that I have selected as the same as the ones that I had selected in the older versions. I realize that there are some new options in 2.1.1, but I do not think that they relate to this behaviour.

Please excuse me if I am just suffering from "old-timers disease".

The eQSL and LoTW flags are for any country of origin.

In the distant past single databases existed for each of eQSL,LoTW and US State. those 3 databases were merged into one for performance and maintenance reasons.
