Geert,

Please try 2.15.5
If the problem persists I would like to see your JTAlert session files.
Please do the following...
  • Enable debug recording via the "Settings -> Enable Debug Recording" JTAlert title-bar menu.
  • Restart JTAlert.
  • Operate as normal and wait at least 10 minutes.
  • Then use the "? -> Contact Support" menu, on the JTAlert title-bar, to send me your JTAlert files for analysis. Include a note that this is for the Callsign population delay problem.
  • Turn off debug recording.

You will likely note a performance hit when debug recording is enabled, so don't forget to turn it off after sending the support request.

After upgrading to 2.15.4, I noticed that there is much delay from when WSJT-X "prints" calls to when JTAlert prints calls in the display slots/lines.  No other windows running on JTAlert (no decodes history, callsign history, band activity windows).  It's not until about second 5 or 6 or 7 into the cycle (FT8) when JTAlert starts printing calls from the prior sequence.

I reverted back to 2.15.0 and it printed calls starting at second 2.
Re-loaded 2.15.4 and it's back to 5 or 6 seconds.

XML lookup are now handled by a new manager process (replacing the old plugin files mechanism as of 2.15.1).
I suggest you update to 2.15.5 and submit a support request if the failed xml lookup persists.

The Db and Freq aren't in the test message so they are blank there....they do show up in a real alert.

And yes...you can add whatever variable you want that is listed in the JTAlert help file.
But you also need to add it to this line which builds the body of the message.

$Body = "$AlertType`n$Country`n$Db`n$Freq`n$Decode`n$Band`n$Mode`n$Date $Time`n"

I didn't add the call sign since it's already in the decode line.

locked New JTAlert 2.15.5 is available. #Announcement #NewRelease

HamApps Support (VK3AMA)

The Latest JTAlert version 2.15.5 is now available @ https://hamapps.com/JTAlert/

This release has the 'no audio' fix experienced by some users of 2.15.4.

IMPORTANT:

If you change the default Windows audio device or devices are added/removed while JTAlert is running, sound will likely stop (it depends on how Windows re-orders the devices and if that causes a new device ID to be assigned to your JTAlert audio device), don't change any JTAlert audio settings, simply restarting JTAlert will correct this. Unfortunately, at this time with the current code JTAlert cannot detect in real-time Windows OS changes to audio devices ordering.

The Release Notes...
2.15.5 (06-DEC-2019)

*** Includes Callsign database file version 2019-12-02 (2019-December-02)

  *** Important:
*** If the Windows default sound device is changed while JTAlert is running
*** and Alert sounds stop playing, restart JTAlert.

  Changes:

    - Performance setting "Disable dupe removal and frequency sorting" is now
permanently enabled. It is no longer user-settable.

  Fixes:

    - Some users experiencing no audio after changing Windows default sound device
or after an automated Windows reassignment of default device after an
existing device is unplugged or goes to sleep. (2.15.4 defect)

Hi Laurie,

I also have found the sound is not working.  When starting this release for the first time, the set the output device pop up was presented.  I selected the correct sound device and tested and the test sound did play.  However on subsequent restarts of JTAlert the sound does not function. I checked the configured output device and it is correct.  Clicking the "Sound On' menu and then clicking "test sound output" does not produce the sound.

Rolled back to 2.15.3 and sound is back.

Windows 10 64 bit with 1909 update. Other hardware connected to my computer is a FDM-DUO and a Rigblaster Advantage (for when I use my Kenwood TS2000 on digital modes). I use the FDM-DUO for audio output and the computer soundcard for JTAlert sounds.
