Thanks for the update.

How large (how many QSOs) is your HRD Log?

Best answer is to get rid of Malwarebytes and all other antimalware other than perhaps the built in Windows Defender. I am assuming you are running Windows. If not then ignore this post. Keepreliable secure backups. Preferably Image for fast full recovery. Keep 321. 3 Copies, 2 different media, 1 offsite. This is by far the best protection you can get. You can run Malwarebytes standalone from time to time if you wish. If it complains on something you know is safe you can ignore it. As an added bonus it lowers the load om your system.

I thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it, so here it is again.  Sorry if it's a dupe.

I just upgraded from ver 2.13.10 to 2.15.   Malwarebytes running on my Win 10 laptop doesn't like 2.15 and quarantines it when I try to run it.   Running 2.13.10 is fine.

Has this been experienced by anyone else, and is there a fix, outside of getting rid of Malwarebytes?   I reverted back to 2.13 for now, but like to keep up with the latest releases.

Tnx,

Shel KF0UR

When I started using WSJT-X, JTAlerts and AC Log, the log populated with the Call within a few seconds on my Surface 3 laptop.   FYI, AC Log is going to QRZ.com for the call data.

Now that I have 107K QSOs in AC Log, it's taking over 24 seconds from the time the call is populated in WSJT-X to the call being populated in AC Log.

If I enter a call in AC Log directly, the call data from QRZ.com gets populated within a second or so.  So that process alone seems OK.

I experimented a bit and tried this with a very small log, just a few QSOs.  In this case, the log populated very quickly, in just a few seconds.

So I wonder what is going on that the number of QSOs in the log has an effect in the process to get a call from WSJT-X to AC Log?.  Is JTAlerts somehow going through all the QSOs in the log for some reason?  I should mention I'm not using JTAlerts for any alerts at this time.  They are all off.   Just a conduit from WSJT-X to AC Log.

Tnx for any insight,

Shel KF0UR

Create an exclusion for it.

You should exclude all your ham directories for programs and data.

These virus checkers and such are getting far too aggressive and impacting all sorts of things.

Exclude these at least
C:\Program Files (x86)\HamApps
C:\WSJT
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\HamApps
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\WSJT-X (and any other configurations)

And your logger and it's database too.  In my case that's Log4OM so included these
C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH
C:\AppData\Local\Roaming\LogOM

Hans,

JTAlert does log MHz to ACLog. The code has explicit instructions to ensure the value is in MHz.

So I can see exactly what is being logged by JTAlert please do the following...

  • Enable debug recording via the "Settings -> Enable Debug Recording" JTAlert menu.
  • Restart JTAlert, that is close JTAlert and then start JTAlert.
  • Operate as normal and log a QSO to ACLog.
  • Then use the "? -> Contact Support" menu, on the JTAlert title-bar, to send me your JTAlert files for analysis. Include a note of the Callsign and UTC time.
  • Turn off debug recording.

Try switch to MariaDB...that solved a similar problem for another HRD user.

Gus,

Have you recently upgraded HRD? If so, did it occur with the previous HRD release?
I note the has been some recent chatter on the HRD Forum regarding Cluster issues.

Which window is showing the waiting cursor, JTAlert or HRD?

If it is JTAlert, does the problem reoccur if you don't have the HRD DX Cluster open?

What Log type are you using in HRDLogbook, Access, MySQL (MariaDB) or MSSQL?

I just finished swapping JTAlert messages with W9MDB and the problem is mostly fixed.  My only question is "Why don't I get the popup when the JTAlert window is minimized"?  I can easily get used to the running wit the window maximized at all times, but it seems to me the popup should work either way.

When I receive a message, I get an audio "Hello" and the textbox  popup with the message.

To operate SPLIT (to work JA) on 160 meters:

In WSJT-X set freq. to 1,908 Mhz - will set ur VFO A to 1,908. Set your VFO B to 1.840 Mhz.

Look at manual to see how operate IC7300 in "SPLIT-FREQUENCY OPERATION" - set it up to TX on VFO B and RX on A.

In that way WSJT-X thinks it's tx' ing on 1908.

Don't mark the "Split setting" in WSJT-X as RIG or FAKE. Mark as "None" in settings

Normally yes, but to work JA on 160 is a different story since they are not allowed to transmit on 1.840 but only on 1.908, so 68 khz is too much for fake split....
