Once uploaded to LotW a QSO is never removed (unless, perhaps ARRL
discovers a certificate was obtained fraudulently but I don't know
that for certain). If you upload JT9 QSOs by mapping (replacing)
the mode to DATA, you will need to upload them again - specifying
JT9 - when LotW accepts JT9 as a separate mode.

Everyone should be able to tell when JT9 is being accepted by the
announcement of *a new configuration file*.

*existing* submissions labeled as "DATA.' Would those
be expunged (by LOTW) or would we need to take some
action?

When JT9 is recognized,
"Recognized" by whom and how? The ADIF working group has already
included JT9 in its most recent (3.03) standard. See:

Exactly.
Keep your QSOs as JT9 in your logbook and allow TQSL to convert them to DATA on the upload.
If the ARRL ever makes the distinction for JT9 QSOS, we will have to upload our JT9 QSOs again.
Fortunately the improvements made with the LoTW server(s) should be able to handle the load. :-)

Thanks, Les, but I as I said earlier, this just changes a JT9 QSO to a generic DATA mode...been there done that. I don't need any more DATA QSO matches so I don't see the point of even bothering. And, once matched as a DATA QSO in LoTW, you'll never be able to use the QSO for a match if the ARRL bothers to recognize JT9 as an award (not the programmers, Joe).

There was a article in this months QST explaining how to setup the TSQL application to convert log entries containing JT9 to data automatically when uploading to LOTW. I follwed the instructions and it worked for me.

The instruction are on page 66 in the March issue of QST. I'll put them in here incase someone does not have access to QST.

Open TQSL

Select FILE - PREFERENCES - ADIF MODES

Click the ADD button

In the mode window enter the mode as it is expressed in your logging program (JT9, for example)

Use the drop down menu on the left to select the mode that you want it to represent. Linking JT9 contacts to DATA will guarantee that they receive digital credit when you upload.

Click OK and then click OK again

When you export your log and sign it with TQSL, you JT9 contacts will automatically be uploaded as DATA (or whatever you've chosen) and will count as digitial contact in LOTW.

It's not LotW's programmers ... It is the ARRL awards desk. When
ARRL decide to offer WAS Endorsement for JT9, it will be added to
LotW. Until then, JT9 is just another "data" mode for DXCC.

Sorry OM,

Changing the Callsign for JT-Alert still requires a simple manual fix. Please use the "Settings -> Contact Support" menu to send me your Configuration File. Once that is received I will provide exact details, which are Windows version dependent, on what needs to be done.

Joe,

Try setting the tolerance to 500 Hz and you will be able to multi-decode over the entire 1 KHz slice of spectrum, depending upon the QSO frequency setting. I use 1500 Hz when I am monitoring.

This is how JT-Alert is currently configured, hotkeys are ignored if none of the JT-Alert windows are active. I just checked and can confirm that this is partially broken. As a test if you use the F3 key which shows the Callsign QSO History window, it will not appear if JT-Alert is not active which is the expected behaviour.

Thankyou Jim.. I must be going blind, I looked through every setting a zillion times and..... well, you know the story..

And, would you believe, I also just found what it was I did previously to stop the problem.. I clicked on 'Alerts' (top of JT65 Alert window) and unticked 'Show Band Activity' but upgrades of the program reset this back to enabled...........
