locked Callsign Alerts in non CQ

Jon KM8V

Is there a way to have JT-Alert highlight callsigns in non-CQ exchanges?

For example, working the 13 colonies, it'd be nice to highlight the 13 colonies stations when they are working other stations in WSJT-X just to see, at a glance, who is on the band.

I haven't found a way to do this, but I might have missed it..

Thanks & 73 de KM8V

Dear Laurie

The attached screen grab might interest you. It shows that JtAlert does not color all callsigns in braces

While it does color callsigns without braces. This issue is important because the uncolored are lost in the mass.

I am using Flex 6600 with 4 instances of WSJT-X and JtAlert.

Glen,

Its always good to get positive feedback about the software. Thanks.

It's not clear to me what your describing.
Are you saying that red alerting Callsigns in JTAlert are not appearing in WSJT-X or is it that the Callsigns in WSJT-X are not being colored red? If the later, are any of the WSJT-X Callsigns being colored by other triggered alerts or is it that none are being colored? Check that you have the coloring enabled in JTAlert....

Note: While the above shows "WSJT-X / JTDX" in the tree-view, the coloring of
Callsigns and Exchanges is NOT available for JTDX (the JTDX team stripped that
part of the WSJT-X code out of their version).

If your not seeing the alerted Callsigns in WSJT-X at all then I will need to see a screen-capture showing the effect. Take a screen-capture showing both the WSJT-X and JTAlert windows and please don't post your entire Windows desktop as this Groups image scaling will likely render the image unreadable, I just need to see WSJT-X and JTAlert only.

Amos,

Thanks for the report.

This appears to be a defect related to the following change made in 2.13.8
    - Alerted DX Callsign coloring in WSJT-X applied to the wrong decode when
another station is calling that DX Callsign in the same period as the DX
is transmititng and their decode appears after the original DX decode.

I haven't confirmed the defect through testing, but am reasonably confident this is the case.
I will try and find some time to code a fix this coming weekend.

That would probably be a WSJT-X problem and not JTAlert.

If you're seeing the failed message when it works increase the timeout value.

Irwin,

The HRD logging component of JTAlert has not changed for a number of years now. It is likely something within the new HRD release is the cause. JTAlert will never log a QSO without a Callsign, Band or Mode as shown in your image, adding further evidence that HRD is the likely cause.

HRD as of a couple of versions back introduced direct logging of WSJT-X QSOs without the need for JTAlert, that may be the cause. Try turning off the logged qso adif broadcasts of WSJT-X and JTAlert.

If JTAlert is reporting it is unable to confirm the QSO is logged, when it does get logged, the usual cause is a delay in writing the QSO (by the logger, DXKeeper in your case) caused by the logger performing additional actions like lookups or online uploads.

See the "FAQ" section of the help file, "Warning about QSO not logged when it is logged" topic.

This is a simple fix, increase the "Check QSO Log Record" time under the "Miscellaneous -> Performance" section of the Settings window.

OM,

That is normal behaviour. When the Callsign is colored in JTAlert because it generated one of the Alert types, the corresponding decode in WSJT-X receives that coloring. This has been available since JTAlert 2.13.0.

If you don't want JTAlert coloring of the WSJT-X decodes, you can turn it off. Settings window -> "Applications -> WSJT-X" section.
