locked JT-Alert 2.13.8

Hi Laurie,

I installed 2.13.8 but now seem to have some anomaly with alerts, I noticed it on 6m where I have stations from the Caribbean set to alert me as a wanted Continent (NA) but in the latest version this does not happen. It seems to only affect worked B4 stations with new stations alerting properly. I also noticed this same behaviour on worked B4 Canadian stations but not on USA stations who triggered the Continent alert regardless of whether they had been worked B4 or not.  I reverted to 2.13.7 and everything worked as expected. I then re-installed 2.13.8 and the same problem re-occurred.

I also got a warning from Avast.  Had to override it.

Thank you, Laurie.

The keyboard trick cured the problem.

Sounds like the Settings window is off screen, a common problem with Windows. Google is your friend for finding a solution.
Just one example... https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/bring-misplaced-off-screen-windows-back-to-your-desktop-keyboard-trick/

To avoid upsetting your other Window placements, I use the Keyboard trick (shown in that refernece) rather than the Cascade Windows technique.

Under JTAlert, Settings, Logging -> Last QSO section...  I unchecked 'Enable transmission of last QSO.

And under WSJT-X, Settings, Reporting tab I don't see anything regarding Secondary UDP Server (see below).

Anyway, I made the one change above and now only get one HRD logbook entry.... but it doesn't include the 'Name'.  Previously one of the three entries include the name, and before installing JTAlert my single FT8 log entries always included the QSO Name.

You need to disable the logged QSO adif broadcasts of both WSJT-X and JTAlert. Recent versions of HRD by default is now listening for these broadcasts.

Under WSJT-X, Settings, Reporting tab...

Under JTAlert, Settings, Logging -> Last QSO section...

If you're not running N1MM turn that off.

Check WSJT-X File/Settings/Reporting -- do you have the "Secondary UDP Server" turned on?
Then check JTAlert Settings/Applications/WSJT-X -- do you have the "Rebroadcast WSJT-X UDP packets" turned on?

Right-click the task bar and select "Cascade windows".

Hopefully it will appear...probably off screen for some reason.

The original problem was fixed by turning the computer, radio, and SignaLink off the restarting the computer, When it was fully booted, I started the radio then the Signalink. That caused the card to be recognized pr4operfly. The second problem I had was caused by no logging program, and some configuration.

Got it fixed. By the way I have the version of Win 10 that does not require
that. It has the better clock in it.

For the last few days I have set up the laptops in the network configuration we will be using this weekend and tried to get JTALert to play nicely with N3FJP FD Logging software. Read the tutorial and Looked at a lot of YouTube videos on the subject. Running the latest WSJT-X, JTAlert and FD Logging software versions. Just can not get them to work together. When I click on the TCP checkbox, the software indicates the software on that laptop is a client and you must connect to our master laptop which I have done. There is no interaction between JTALert and N3FJP.
Randy,

These are my settings on the client (non-server) computer. You must check with the person running the "master" (server) laptop for what settings you should use in image 3. (I'd recommend TCP if you are running it.) Note that in image 1 the "Log file" does not matter at all. I am assuming you have a connection between JTAlert and WSJT-X already.

What is odd is slicemaster only configures WSJT. Has nothing to do with JTalert.
