locked How to configure using WSJT-X ADIF file as worked before file

E <erisi@...>

I apologize if this post is a double. How exactly do I configure JTAlert to use WSJT-X's ADIF file, or my online LoTW data, as the basis for the worked B4 database?

Thank you!

Guys,

Yes,  I'm talking time delays once the program is loaded and running. It's not that I'm having such a terrible time but I am a little slow on the trigger. Even a few seconds saved by a decrease in the time WSJT-X takes to decode and pass information to JTAlert and display of calls received would help my not so nimble anymore fingers to reply to a QSL. But perhaps there's little to gain compared to a second of response time. If so I've learned something and saved $$$ on an unnecessary hardware upgrades.

Thank you both for responding. 73,

Ed -

I'm sure that Laurie will ask for more details, but kind of problems are you having with JT Alert's processing time? I monitor 8 bands simultaneously and, even when conditions allow for 30+ decodes per band on multiple bands, I don't experience anything that I would consider abnormal. This is on an i7 Win7 64 Pro system with 8GB of RAM and an SSD.

One thing that I have noticed is that my friends that use WSJT-X and JT Alert have experienced differences in performance based on which security suite they're using. One friend had to go to great length to get NAV to "trust" everything that WSJT-X / JT Alert interacted with because of very high CPU utilization on every decode cycle and ultimately reduced a visible slow-down to virtually nothing.

Hope this helps.

What is the execution bottleneck in JTAlert processing? Is it I/O bound with regard to my disk drive?
Would the best way to reduce overall response time be to use a solid state disk drive?
I have a very fast computer (Intel i7-7700), 16GB of memory and an
SSD. Starting WSJT-X seems to take longer than I would expect to load
an ADIF log of 6600 QSOs.

So in answer to your question, I doubt any hardware upgrades would help you.

I had the same issue.  Make sure you run Windows Update several times - it will resolve any dependencies and you will be able to install 4.7.2 without issues from there.

Hello,

What is the execution bottleneck in JTAlert processing? Is it I/O bound with regard to my disk drive? Would the best way to reduce overall response time be to use a solid state disk drive? Or am I off track and some other aspect of the program is holding up  the response time?

Thanks & 73,

Objet : [HamApps] JTAlert hangs when enable or disable "Send Spots to HamSpots.net"

Hi,
For quite a while I am observing the following issue: Almost each time after switching "Send Spots to HamSpots.net" on or off, JTAlertX hangs one time. Sometimes immediately after switching and sometimes some seconds or minutes later. Workaround is easy: Restarting JTAlert brings it to work again and then the issue is gone. Is reproducable here at my PC, and didn't change so far altough the JTAlert version as well as Windows 10 were updated a couple of times. (I am currently running JTAlertX 2.12.10 build 0000 and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, version 1803, build 17134.523).
Did anyone experience the same?

Laurie,

It working this morning just fine. I did check for JTAlertHamSpots.Plugin in my task manager it was there and yesterday it made no difference if firewall was on/off as I did check that before posting. The gremlin gone for now
thanks for help.

Since you have the spotting enabled, the likely cause of no spots is that the "JTAlertHamSpots.Plugin" is not running or it is being interfered with by your Virus/Malware protection. Check taskmanager to see if "JTAlertHamSpots.Plugin" is present. If it isn't check your Virus protection to see if it is blocking the starting of the process.

I might see something in your JTAlert files, use the "? -> Contact Support" menu, on the JTAlert title-bar, to send me your JTAlert files for analysis.

locked JTAlert 2.12.10 “Not Responding”

Vern NJ8L

Equipment lineup. JTAlert 2.12.10, WSJT-X 2.0.0, HRD 6.3.0.524 (no rig control), TS-2000, Signalink USB, Win 7

All works first few QSOs/logging. The JTAlert then fails to display WSJT-X decodes after logging a QSO. Selecting the Alert status bar shows “not responding “. After a few sessions Alert will start displaying correctly while JT-x always decoded while Alert was not responding. Makes no difference if double clicking on the call sign in JT-X or JTAlert when selecting the new QSO partner.

Any suggestion(s) as to where I can look to point me in the direction to rectify this problem?

Bill sorry, but your mistaken.

JTAlert correctly identifies PJ4P as Bonaire (DXCC - 520) for both decoding and logging.
The problem is that the XML data from QRZ.com is incorrect, listing the DXCC as 517, Curacao
There is nothing that JTAlert can do if the QRZ listing maintainer gets it wrong. "Garbage In = Garbage Out".

Decoding...

Logging (without XML lookup)...

Logging after the QRZ XML Lookup...

While the QRZ webpage shows Bonaire, that is only the address field typically used for QSLing, but can be used for other purposes. This is not the XML data.

The QRZ XML data contains a dxcc field that identifies the Country. For PJ4P this has been entered wrong.

I checked the database on HamSpots and all spots from
