I am currently running JT-Alert 2.0.7 which is working fine. I downloaded the 2.0.8 replacement .exe file and am getting the following error message when I try to install the program:

-----

There has been an error starting the SQLite database component.

Function : _SQLite_Startup()
DLL File : C:\Users\AA7XT\Downloads\sqlite3.dll - Missing.
SQLite Error Message : Library used incorrectly
SQLite Error Code : 21

This error message has been placed in the Windows Clipboard.

Program will now exit.

-----

Please advise - do I need to download this .dll to run 2.0.8?

You can accomplish this by running DXLab's Spotcollector (SC), and enabling JT-Alert's feature to send all decodes as local spots to spotcollector ...   There's then a lot you can do with that information once it's in the SC database (MS Access), plus just having the SC window open you can "see" your whole decode history with DXCC/state/grid etc.

Basically it would append the information that you see in JT-Alert. This would give the ability for the user to view a log and see when that elusive contact shows up, or figure out when a certain DXCC usually comes online.

What do you think?

Wonderful, Laurie. Thank you very much.

Feel free to implement it however you feel it should be done. The aim here is to add the alert and additional identification information for each contact into a log so it can be viewed later.

Appreciate the swift response.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the suggestion.

All of what you ask, plus much more, is already recorded in the session file. The session file is created to provide me sufficient information to debug problems when the contact support option is used. While this session file is not suitable for what you ask, the code to write this data already exists and it would be a trivial matter to produce the sort of file you have requested.

Your request is now on the todo list and given the ease of implementation, I expect it would be available in the next release.

In my rush to get 2.0.8 released yesterday, I neglected to test a minor change to the End TX/RX Alert. Tthe change being so trivial I didn't test it. I wont do that again, Hi.

Rather than producing a new release, I have compiled a replacement JT-Alert.exe which you can get from here...
http://Ham-Apps.com/dnl/Fixes/JT-Alert.exe

Stop JT-Alert and then download the replacement saving it to the directory where JT-Alert is installed, overwriting the existing file.

Laurie, VK3AMA <groups04@...>

Hi Rick,

This is a problem with XP. With Win7/Win8 the dialog offers an option to close the currently open applications. That works because once the setup has started then JT-Alert and the updater (which initiated the upgrade) are no longer actively participating in the upgrade and can be closed without aborting the upgrade.

I will be adding OS detection to the updater to only provide a download option for a JT-Alert upgrade if running under XP. The enduser will have to exit JT-Alert and manually run the setup file downloaded. It will have to be done this way due to XP limitations.

This change should be in the next release.

JT-Alert 2.0.8 is ready for download.

The important fix here is the automatic detection of Windows initiated change of sound device ID while JT-Alert is running. JT-Alert will change to using the new ID without loss of audio alerts. This change in sound device ID only occurs under Vista/Win7/Win8 when an exisitng device is removed or goes into hibernation and then only if that device had a lower ID than the device used for JT-Alert audio announcements.

From the Release Notes...

  Fixes:
    - Sound playing with wrong soundcard after Windows reassigned Soundcard IDs.
    - Soundcard selection box not showing current setting (not all users).
    - One of the debugging session files being incorrectly truncated.
  Changes:
    - Decoded callsigns/colors are now cleared when Configuration is opened.

    - Setup now records a log of warnings and errors generated during install.

Hi David,

I am not surprised about Wine.

2.0.8 now records a log of warnings or errors encountered by the Windows msiexec program when the setup is run. The setup is actually a wrapper for an .msi install file.

Under Win7, it would be trying to write to this path... "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Ham-Apps\sessions"
Try creating that path and then run the setup again.

I will pull the 2.0.8 release from the server and regenerate the setup without the logging.

Hi Andy,

This occurs when the JT-Alert upgrade is from 1.x to 2.0.x

There is technical reason combined with an oversight on my part that are the cause of the empty file paths. Sorry about that.

Mostly just curious and also wondering if anyone else had been caught by this.
