locked Logging to HRD #HRD

Marc VK3OHM

When JTAlert V2.10.17 (but it's been happening for a long time) logs a contact to HRD, the "eQSL received" and "LOTW received" fields have the value "Requested (Submitted)" they should have the value "No". This actually sounds like an HRD API problem, but I have to start somewhere.

For what it is worth.......

I have a nice CMD file that will scan an ADIF file and create an export ADIF with only the JT65, JT9 & FT8 records.

Feel free to ask me for it if anyone wants it.

OM,

it sounds like you enabled "Menu->Save->Save All" in WSJT-X, this will save a .WAV file for every Rx period and will eventually consume a lot of disk space if you do not manage the files. Note for the future that WSJT-X offers "Menu->File->Delete all .wav & .c2 files in SaveDir" to clean up these files without trashing other important WSJT-X data files. Alternatively you can set the save directory for them to a spinning disk if you prefer in the "Settings->Audio" panel.

TBH if you have a spinning disk then you should consider moving your user directories to it if you are worried about SSD wear on your system disk.

Any valid ADIF file will do for the WSJT-X log file, you may wish to export one with only QSOs from the WSJT-X modes to save some time loading the file every start up.

locked Decoding FT8

Michael Reid

Using latest versions WSJT-X and JTAlert with Flex6500 receiver with DAX and Windows 10 for FT8.  All works fine except:  When listening to the bands, without transmitting, the decodes are often restricted to only "even" or "odd" timing, instead of decoding every 15-second time slot as even - odd - even - odd, etc.  Is there a way to force decoding of ALL the alternate even and odd timeslots when NOT transmitting?

Thanks, in advance...Mike, K6DRY

I have the same problem.  I’m on the Windows 10 fast ring, so perhaps that has something to do with it.  I’m on version 1803 OS Build 17666.1000 64-bit.  And JT-Alert is version 2.10.17.

locked Logger32 missing info from QRZ XML

Rich Roberts <rwr261@...>

I am running JTDX v 18.1.0.78 with JTAlert  v 2.10.17 and it works extremely well and logs automatically into Logger32.  My QRZ XML details are entered in the software and when I call a station all the information is presented accordingly on the screen.  I have the options ticked for both full name and QTH details from QRZ XML server to be transferred to my log but this doesn’t  happen.  I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction as Im obviously missing something and I couldn’t find anything in the search I made

Hi Norm,

you have the "Flatten" option checked, this expects the Rx passband and the waterfall width reasonably well aligned. If you un-check "Flatten" you will see that your Rx filtering rolls of below 300Hz. Either adjust your IF filtering or if you can't do that then change the waterfall start frequency to 200Hz.

Hi Laurie--I'm wondering if you've given any recent consideration to offering a hamspots feed via telnet.  I'd really like to add it to my Spot Collector sources to help watch out for needed digital DXCC stations.

Thank you sir and keep up the good work!

Lon,

So are you saying that QSL confirmed status in HRDlog will cause JTAlertX to accurately update States Wanted status automatically?
I'm not an HRD user and do not know how or if HRD differentiates
between (among) card, eQSL and LotW confirmations.

If so, it sounds like I need to simply enable HRD V5/V6 Logging
instead of the Standard ADIF file and everything should be fine?
Assuming HRD does differentiate among the confirmation methods and
Laurie knows how to extract that data, enabling HRD logging and
performing a scan/rebuild periodically will achieve your goal.

Thanks, Joe...that makes sense.  So the fact that LoTW and JTAlertX agree on the confirmed contacts is, in my case, a function of the fact that during this Grid Chase event, I only work people that show an LoTW flag.

Hi All,

I was about to open a thread for a potential feature enhancement on the callsign history as well, figure I'd pin it to this one if you don't mind.

Would it be possible to get a right-click context menu on the history callsigns same as you have in the alert box?

Thanks again Laurie for the great work.

I just wanted to mention a few things that, when you have time, I'd appreciate your considering adding to your enhancement list.

On the HamApps Callsign History page, it would be helpful if your own call could be highlighted in red.  I use the History page to see if a station I'm interested in working has heard me – even if he isn't answering me.  It would be much easier to see my call in Red/white while looking through the long list.

My other suggestion relates to JTAlert.  I typically never shut JTAlert down, but when I do, after restarting, I always have to click on View, then click on Alert Type Summary Window, and also click on Text Message Window to have these tools available.  It would be helpful if both of these items would retain their status – either checked or unchecked.

Thanks again for the great programs.  I hope to see you on FT8 one of these days!
