Hamspots via telnet?
ars.k0vc@...
Hi Laurie--I'm wondering if you've given any recent consideration to offering a hamspots feed via telnet. I'd really like to add it to my Spot Collector sources to help watch out for needed digital DXCC stations.
Thank you sir and keep up the good work! 73 Rick K0VC

Lon,
So are you saying that QSL confirmed status in HRDlog will cause JTAlertX to accurately update States Wanted status automatically?I'm not an HRD user and do not know how or if HRD differentiates between (among) card, eQSL and LotW confirmations. If so, it sounds like I need to simply enable HRD V5/V6 LoggingAssuming HRD does differentiate among the confirmation methods and Laurie knows how to extract that data, enabling HRD logging and performing a scan/rebuild periodically will achieve your goal. 73, ... Re: Enhancement Request
Randy
Hi All, I was about to open a thread for a potential feature enhancement on the callsign history as well, figure I'd pin it to this one if you don't mind. Would it be possible to get a right-click context menu on the history callsigns same as you have in the alert box? Thanks again Laurie for the great work. ---

Enhancement Request
Bob WB2NVR
Hi Laurie –
I’ve been using Hamspots and JTAlert for what seems like forever, and I really want to thank you for both programs. They really enhance the ham radio experience.
I just wanted to mention a few things that, when you have time, I'd appreciate your considering adding to your enhancement list.
On the HamApps Callsign History page, it would be helpful if your own call could be highlighted in red. I use the History page to see if a station I’m interested in working has heard me – even if he isn’t answering me. It would be much easier to see my call in Red/white while looking through the long list.
My other suggestion relates to JTAlert. I typically never shut JTAlert down, but when I do, after restarting, I always have to click on View, then click on Alert Type Summary Window, and also click on Text Message Window to have these tools available. It would be helpful if both of these items would retain their status – either checked or unchecked.
Thanks again for the great programs. I hope to see you on FT8 one of these days!

Re: How to change display timeout
There's really no way to change that ... EVEN - CQ station (and others) Xmits ODD - EVEN Xmit Stations display - you have to be ready to pounce to Tx on this if you didn't WSJT-X is receiving EVEN - If you didn't Xmit, those odd Xmit stations now appear and EVEN stations are transmitting
The cycle repeats ... there's no way you can keep those slots open. To see what happened previously you need to scroll the WSJT-X Band Activity window.

Would be nice if your transmitting in the next time slot if it could keep the display up. But I guess it can not do that.

Miss a few that way, but there's always tomorrow (I hope) Perhaps some change in the future will help, but who knows? RIchard WB6NGC

So are you saying that QSL confirmed status in HRDlog will cause JTAlertX to accurately update States Wanted status automatically? If so, it sounds like I need to simply enable HRD V5/V6 Logging instead of the Standard ADIF file and everything should be fine? Am I on track? Thanks, Lon, KØWJ

Re: How to change display timeout

You have 14 seconds for the callsigns, that's the amount of time until the next series of decodes. There's no way to change it. JT-Alert is NOT open source.

The states/grids/zones/"countries" *confirmed* lists can only update

if one is using a supported logger (*not* ADIF log). The supported logger must record card/eQSL/LotW confirmations in order for that information to be available for the "Scan Log and Rebuild" process. When using the ADIF log, the only information available is "Worked" (i.e., present in the log). This information has been previously disseminated and discussed by Laurie. 73, ... Joe, W4TV

I have been looking for a setting to change the display timeout in JT alert. How can I have it leave the call signs up until they are updated at the next decode. I can't read them fast enough when I'm looking for different signs.
Also is the JT alert open source? I think it would be fun to try and make a few changes. Kim KI0e

Re: Scan Log and Rebuild works for all bands except 6 Meters
K0WJ <k0wj.lon@...>
Hi Neil,
No, HRDlog (the log of HRD Rig Control Software) is not Enabled in JTAlertX. HRDlog.net is not Enabled as a Web Service either. I have no idea how both of these are logging QSOs, but the are. My bigger question is, "How do the necessary confirmation flags get updated? Is this a manual process where one would edit the ADIF log file. Okay, I just tried something. I looked to see the status of my States Wanted on 6 Meters and it showed 48 of 50 States Wanted. This morning I worked five new states. So I just did a Scan Log and Rebuild and looked again at States Wanted and it now shows 43 wanted, so it accounted for the 5 new ones, but they haven't been confirmed by LoTW yet, because I haven't uploaded them to LoTW yet. So I'd like to get an answer to my bigger question. That answer should shed some light on the subject for me. Thanks, Lon, KØWJ
