Band Activity data has been missing for several days from JTAlert for WSJT-x.  I can go into Hamspots.com and see data for digital modes, so the website it up.  Has anything changed that I am not aware of?

WSJT-x v1.8.0-rc3 r8175
JTAlert - v2.10.3
Win7 64bit.

Thanks,

Hello Wes,

Glad to hear that combination does work.  Could you share that "specific installation information" with others of us who are in the same technology boat?  :)

If I could get JTAlert to send my QSO's directly to Logger32 I too will be very very happy.

Thanks. 73 de N4GIL / Wayne

When that happened I changed the option in the decodes history settings to "Delete old records" under the Startup Options. This didn't delete the entries but stopped the file from growing any bigger. But today I just seen that its got bigger again, the current size is 1.05GB. The period is 74 weeks, 3 days, 23 hours 30 minutes.

Is this a bug or user error? Is it OK just to delete the decode.sqlite file from within file explorer, or do I risk corrupting something?

Chris,

Something is not right. The delete option should delete all entires except for entries for the current utc day, thus the reason for the two counts returned after the deletion.

Typically when entries are not being added or not being deleted the cause is a corrupt decodes.sqlite file or the file having a lock on it that can only be removed with a PC Restart.

Unless you desperate to retain the old entries in your sqlite file, I suggest a shutdown of JTAlert and manual deletion of the decodes.sqlite file.

The decodes file will be found at %localappdata%\HamApps\
M1PTT\decodes\JTAlertX\decodes.sqlite

Let me know how you get on.

JTAlert is coded under Win10 with MS Defender with no false-positives.

Make sure your virus definition files are up-to-date.

JTAlert is virus free.  All JTAlert files are scanned at virus total before publishing.

I am confident JTAlert is virus free, provided you downloaded the official distribution site, https://HamApps.com

False positive...happens very frequently on multiple anti-virus vendors due to the programming language used.

Just put in an exception on the JTAlert folder in Defender.

This type of error is typically due to permissions.
As a first step perform a PC Restart (Restart not Reboot).
If the install still fails, try installing to a directory not owned by a previous WSJT-X install. JTAlert has been coded to allow it to be installed into the Windows protected "Program Files (X86)" directory so there is no need to use a directory outside that directory.

locked JTAlert and Logger 32

Hi All,

To the code wizards it may be a trivial issue but, as a “user” with limited knowledge of computers and none of coding software, can I say thanks to those who worked out how to log FT8 qso’s in logger 32.

The combination of WSJT-X, JTAlert and the Socat bridging software works really well so,

Thanks Guys!!

Hi all,

I had no issues with using WSJY-X >> JTAlert >> N3FJP VHF  (as far as know.)  The robot accepted my Cabrillo file.  I just ignored (deleted) each instance of the “Not Logged” window.

Running in the ARRL VHF contest this weekend I was pleasantly surprised that I could directly log WSJT-X digital QSOs via JTAlert to N3FJP's VHF Contest Log software.
All of the QSO information was properly added to the VHF Contest Log, however in each case JTAlert issued a 'failed to log' popup window.  Is there something that needs to be added or changed so that JTAlert will issue a 'log successful' popup when logging to the VHF Contest Log instead of ACLog?   Or am I missing a setting?
Thanks,

Rick,

JTAlert was never coded to support the other N3FJP loggers. Only ACLog is supported, there may be potential for incorrect data logging if loggers other than ACLog are used in the manner you describe.

JTAlert uses the ACLog config file to automatically determine the physical location of the log file and reads that log file when determining if a QSO was successfully logged. This is why you received the "Unable to confirm" popup after each logging, JTAlert was not reading the VHF Contest Log log file.

If you want to continue using the VHF log, there are two ways in which that can be achieved.
  1. Set the VHF Contest Log to use the same physical log file as ACLog. If you want to keep you Contest log qsos separate from your general (ACLog) log, this is not a suitable option.

  2. Set JTAlert to ignore the log file specified in the ACLog config file and manually set the VHF Contest Log log file path. This can be done by setting JTAlert to use the Remote Networked PC option for ACLog logging. Open JTAlert Settings to the Logging->ACLog section and switch the "ACLog Install Location" from "Local PC" to "Remote Networked PC". Then set the IP address and Port to 127.0.0.1 and 1100 respectively. You will need to use the now enabled select button to browse to the location of your VHF Contest Log log file.

While option 2 will allow JTAlert ACLog logging to the Contest Log, there are no guarantees this will work with the other Contest logs and no guarantees regarding QSO data integrity. Your on your own and I will not be able to provide support or fault diagnosis if JTAlert is used in this way.
