I believe that the increase to 128 characters was implemented in 2.4.11 or 2.4.10, but in any any case, that is the new limit if you are up-to-date.

Dan when you see the other stations call sign in the “call sign heard” block in JTAlert, RIGHT click on that call and a pop up window will open, select the bottom line “send text message to callsign”, the send text and a text message window will open and enter the message you want to send. If there is no call sign in the block, right click a empty block select send text and a text message window will open and enter the callsign and message you want to send..64 characters max

I was using JT-Alert X with WSJT-X this afternoon.
A DX station started a chat session with me. My question is, how do I initiate a chat session?

Thanks, Dan KM6CQ
