I used the older version because I knew it was working on my old PC. Apparently it is not a version issue so I will update to the latest version. With regard to your question on the the ability to log new contacts, yes I can and have logged several new contacts and the DSN appears to be correct (using the default log name "MY Logbook"). I'll check the path also. Ill try the comment test and let you know.
