I put an extra 2 COM port into my PC with an expansion card. Works well.

Mike, are you trying to run HRD DM780?

I have a 590SG and use HRD Logging program ONLY. I don't even start the HRD program as HRD DM780 wants to control the com port which WSJT-X also needs to control the 590.

I just run WSJT-X to the 590 via com port, then open JT Alert, and just the HRD logging program only. This is very simple solution and works great and doesn't require setting up multiple com ports.

Hope this helps you -
